My son is a linebacker on his high School football team and had a minor ankle injury at the start of the season. His ankle bothers him when it gets subjected to a lot of pressure, like in practices and games. He picked this brace because a few of his teammates had the same one and liked it. He has worn it five days a week for the last two months and it has held up very well to the abuse of a football player. I have watched it once or twice a week with other laundry and then hung it to dry and it has done great. This is a great support brace for athletes!

There are several things about this that I like. 1). Goes 's higher up my legs than the others I tried. 2). The fabric is stiffer/more substantial than the others I tried 3). This is the only one that included long enough shoelaces to loosen it around my injured swollen foot 4). The shoe laces holes allow for tightening - but without creating pressure points on my swollen sensitive foot like the other ones I tried. 5). The compression straps applied pressure- but without pain. The straps gave stability, but go around ankle in away that avoids my very sore ball joint. So I was able to get the compression without the pain on the damaged part of my joint. 6). For me - I need just the right amount of stiffness with range of motion. I'm wearing this cuz I messed up my ankle and it really hurts- so I need it just stiff enough that I can walk but not too stiff that I can't walk. This porrage was just the right temperature.

Nice, great support. Wear a thicker sock for comfort, per the directions. To find your correct size, go by ankle diameter alone and measure the narrowest part of the ankle. Ignore the shoe size chart. There is plenty of stretch to accommodate if your foot is slightly too big. However, of the support is too large, you can’t tighten it enough to get proper support. If you are close or in between sizes, get the smaller size.

This brace is comfortable to wear and gives enough support even tho it’s very flexible.

I don't know if it qualifies as a level 3, but it's damned close. the ability to lace this to my preferred tightness is great. what makes this even better are the three velcro straps. watch the videos on how to use them correctly. that makes a world of difference. My doctor wanted me in a giant plastic boot, bigger than my ski boots, to prevent me from accidentally rolling my ankle while I'm recovering. that boot costs $100 at the doctors. the McDavid is WAY more confortable. I can wear it with my Keen hiking sandles or a low business shoe. (it's bulky around the ankle area) but, gotta say, this thing is pretty damned good. love it, can wear it all day, my ankle feels better for it. all around win, and I'd recommend it to anyone. note: I'm not a doctor so it's not a medical recommendation. and you shouldn't look to amazon for medical advice. ;-) but boy, if you just need to keep your ankle less mobile side to side while still allowing a some ability to toe down/up, this is an excellent brace for that.

Because of the tie up design, these are very much more difficult and time consuming to put on and off and not nearly as comfortable (in mid-top walking shoe) than the velcro designs which provide "light" support. It provides marginally better support but not nearly enough to put up with the inconvenience and discomfort.

Tobillera excelente. Viene con cordones en la parte interior del "calcetín", lo que permite ajustar la presión sobre el pié en función del tamaño del mismo. Si tienes un pié muy ancho o con empeine alto va muy bien. Otras tobilleras vienen con un "calcetín interior" elástico, que no se puede regular. Las bandas laterales de velcro cumplen su cometido a la perfección. Recomiendo que cuando no se utilice, las bandas laterales y traseras se sujeten contra ellas mismas para no estropear los cordones.

I just twisted my ankle. Again. This time I bought this strap and since I put it on what a relief ! It holds my ankle perfectly. I took the XL size and I usually fit size 12 1/2 or 13 and it's a bit tight... but it's meant to hold my ankle so it's fine. There is no real reinforcement to prevent twisting again, so I wouldn't use it for sports, but to help curing a twisted ankle it is perfect.

Don’t waste your time with those sock like braces. Get this and be worry free about further ankle problems. Great for bball / vball
