Black TUSQ XL by Graph Tech 42mm Flat B0ttom Strat Style Nut PT-5042-00

I recently bought a Coban Telecaster DIY kit with a damaged nut slot and missing nut in a clearance sale. I repaired the slot with plastic wood and used this as the opportunity to try a Tusk nut, it fitted perfectly without any need to alter it and gives the guitar the correct string clearance from nut to third fret, I have used this in conjunction with a set of Wilkinson Tuners and between them both it makes tuning the guitar and keeping it in tune a doddle. I will be converting my other guitars to these nuts when they are due for restringing.

Nice tight fit in a HB TE52 after a little sanding on the fret board side. Needed a little edge sanding as well. Perfectly cut slots for frets 1 2 3 tuning accuracy. Tuning stability excellent. Worth the cost for a quality upgrade to budget guitars.

Got this for an old Encore strat I got in a charity shop as a mod project.The nut really has made a vast improvement both tonally and with tuning stability.It will need sanding down to fit most guitars but this was relatively straight forward (I sanded from the bottom to get the correct height, rather than filing the already well crafted slots)Very pleased with this purchase and the improvements to tone and stability were more than expected. Would recommend!

It's an easy replacement for a strat nut. Minimal filing and shaping was required to make this perfect.

I had to sand it down and take it in and out the nut slot three times, adjusting it. More because I want a certain first fret action. This product made a huge difference to a Telecaster I built. I would recommend it to others. It gave me more highs and surprisingly more low end. I now have a more balanced tone rich in overtones.

I bought a very cheap second hand strat copy to use as a take anywhere guitar. After replacing the strings and adjusting neck tension , bridge action and intonation it was a lot better but the nut action was very high and uneven. I tried filing and shaping but it didn't respond and went bad. After checking the dimensions I ordered this nut which arrived in good time. It was slightly too thick to slip in but after 15 minutes careful sanding it was a firm fit. I didn't use any glue, letting the string tension do the work. Before fitting I wasn't sure about the string height, looking maybe too low for comfort, but after tuning it was spot on. Guitar now very playable. Very good !

The best nut material on the market bar none. Always a good fit although a minor amount of filing is usually required but the slots are always cut well and never had any string binding when one of these is installed - every guitar I own or have worked on gets a TUSQ nut, which in itself says a lot.

Absolutely fantastic, well worth the money. Literally no noise from the top end, no pinging, nothing at all. Tuning has never been so enjoyable. Massive upgrade to the stock nut on my 2013 Squire Strat

Con un poco de trabajo de lima, encaja perfecta en las TE de Harley Benton. Mejara sustain y afinacion. Poco pasta y trabajo, gran mejora.

Il capotasto Black Tusq Xl è fantastico, l'ho montato su una Squier Affinity ed è perfetto. Non è necessario apportare nessuna modifica, limatura o adattamento, basta semplicemente icollarlo e riposizionarlo per bene come l'originale in plastica. Purtroppo l'unico neo non è stato il prodotto ma bensì la rimozione di quello vecchio: devo dire molto difficoltosa tanto che si è pure scheggiato un pezzo della tastiera vicino alla paletta, proprio in corrispondenza del foro di regolazione della truss rod. Nel tantivo di farlo saltare, spingendolo di lato con un punzone si rigato un po' il primo tasto. Per fortuna non si nota molto. Ho riparato il pezzetto che si distaccato con un po' di Loctite. Non appena il tutto si sarà essiccato a modino, faro' un piccolo intervento di restauro con l'olio e una rifinitura finale con lana di acciaio.Non ho avuto modo di verificare il funzionamento ma visto come si presenta escludo a priori che possa essere qualcosa di negativo, anzi direi tutto l'opposto.
