This is a smart board that you can add to your raspberry PI (or other dev boards that have the raspberry pi 40 pin header or via the i2c header connection) in seconds. It adds 2 serial ports with full hardware flow control along with 8 general use GPIO pins all driven via the I2C interface and driver software which can be found for multiple boards searching google/github Like other expansion boards this board allows you to select the I2C address the board will respond to as well as allowing multiple boards to be mounted on top of each other via the header passthrough allowing you to expand the number of serial ports & IO pins for use in your projects Also included in the package are some header wires for getting started , 12 male to female and 12 female to female connectors. Do note that by detail the board does not include the headers for the I2C interface or GPIO so you will need to solder on some header pins or solder wires directly to the holes on the board. The board also has handy led's on the RX/TX pins for each serial port giving a quick visual guide if things are working properly. Great board if you need extra hardware serial ports on your projects.
