Once calibrated keep your finger on the button to enable it to detect
I have tried several variants of this product and as many people say the accuracy and reliability of devices can be a challenge. With this product (so far) I have not experienced the same issues encountered with similar products. Very easy to use. For electrical wiring you need to be aware of the graphic that displays on screen as it does not have an alarm unlike other devices - so far definitely worth the money - next steps is for me to test against studs

Doesn't find anything, or finds everything everywhere
Tried this a million times in the short time I have had it.I know where mains cables run behind plasterboard to power sockets as I marked the board when I put it up but this 'thing' doesn't find them on any setting (only 15mm away from the device). I know there are wooden batons somewhere there too but unsure of the exact place and they are not detected either.But on occasion it thinks there are batons in about 8 places along a 1.5m wall (I know there is only 1).Don't buy if you want to find things in your wall find something else that will actually work!

I'm unconvinced this is a reliable method to check for studs or power cables,
you get ambiguous readings so I use it to see if there is anything present and very gingerly drill until satisfied its safe - it does not find modern central heating piles as they are plastic and the water is not detected, as I found out the hard way

Does what I needed it to do!
Bought to find a suitable place to erect a pressure fit pole against my ceiling. Did the job perfectly and a handy tool to have around for similar jobs in the future.

Very simple
This is a decent item for the money. It finds studs just as well as any at this price point, however it does at times give false positives for electrical.Still a good purchase for the price.

Junk
Got this on the back of all the decent reviews, but alas the one I received did not work at all. Powered up but could not detect studs that I knew were there or, more worryingly love cables.Returned.
