Well designed and once built sturdy.. after a months use... its waterproof and holds a cushions for a 5 seater corner patio set... its a little tricky to put together.. read the instructions and made sure you've the piece the right way.. I had to take down and rebuild twice as I had the lid the wrong way.. having written. That it was easy to put together and really well made.. worth the investment if you want to store cushions etc.. it has a solid base and so far no slugs have managed to get in.. we'll worth the money

We have long had a need to organise our garden, and bought one of the Lifetime large sheds to use as a garden store for tools, chemicals etc. We realised that it was sufficiently weatherproof to be able to store electrical equipment out there (pressure washer, etc) and even freed up space in our utility room!Encouraged by this we also bought the Lifetime 60089 storage box (439 litre) to allow us to store some summer stuff that we'd rather not have to store indoors over winter. This includes some electricals (solar lights) some plastics (artificial plants, spare covers and weatherproof covers for outdoor furniture (that comes out over winter), and also fabrics, swing seat cushions etc that come in over winter. The fabrics did fine over winter, although they have to be dry before they go in there, as does anything else you put into the box. I checked once or twice, briefly, over winter, and everything was dry and cool, and the fabrics were in great shape, so the weatherproofing works.The design is really well conceived, with all the components, roof, walls, base, all made to shuck off water to the outside of the structure and not allow it in anywhere, the overhanging lid puts water down onto the walls, and the walls fit just outside of a small raised lip that forces the water away. It would need to be standing in about 3 inches of standing water before I'd start to worry. From the overwinter storage of fabrics, I get the impression that even condensation outside (misty winter mornings or humid days) doesn't get inside. Provided you follow the assembly instructions diligently and tighten up the components properly, you're in business.The instructions are rather the same as for the upright shed we had bought earlier. A few Ikea-like pictograms and numbering systems for the packets of components. Fortunately there are fewer of them for this storage box! This keeps its lid open using a hydraulic strut, and that was the more tricky element of setup, but even then it was not that hard to do.It's a useful size for our needs and, situated close to a garden seat, it doubles up as a table for bits and pieces should we decide to eat out there. If you had an outdoors party, you could pretty much dress it up with a decent covering and it would double as drinks/plates/food table.It is well made, versatile, closes easily, and can be padlocked (with a small padlock, admittedly, as there is limited space for a lock because the closure sits in a little niche below the folded-down lid). All in all, it's a great and useful product, because it's well thought-out and is made from weatherproof and solid components.

The parcel was heavy and the package carboard box came broken at the bottom as the delivery man dragged it across the ground. I was afraid that items came out of the box and there are missing parts from package because of that but wasn't the case. They delivered all items even the package box was open.Mounting this box is a job for professionals. Basically to be able to mount this item you need an impact drill and to know how to use it else you are exposed to accidents or/and property damage. I worked a decade as designer engineer and I know what I am saying. If you don't have this tool or you don't know how to use it you will have troubles putting this item together.Mounting process is noisy, so prepare your neighbours for about 2 hours of loud noise coming from the place where you have intention to do the job.They delivered my item at the front door and the garden is at a lower level so was necessary to unpack and move every part down trough a 12 steps stair. Moving entire parcel as arrived was not practical because was too heavy.You need to study the manual and a Youtube clip (there are several clips, for me was "Lifetime 116-Gallon Outdoor Storage Deck Box Lifetime Assembly Video" - for other sizes are other clips) together to be able to do the job.The process is difficult and time consuming, for me was about 2 hours (add half of hour of rest on top of these 2 hours - is absolute necessary). The most of this time was for transport of the parts down stairs, study the manual and watch the Youtube clip. The work itself was about half an hour of intense physical activity. During this half an hour of activity I observed that there are many design errors of this item. The most serious error is that the some screws are cutting in plastic if they are only slightly over torqued (you can see these screws after 6 minutes and 50 seconds from beginning of Youtube clip mentioned above). It's so simple to put an aluminium metal protection to avoid metal screws cutting in plastic!You don't need two persons to mount the lid, a wall or, if you are in the garden, a tree to support the lid while you are mounting it can easily replace the second person.At the end, when was necessary to put the lid on top of the box it looked like they are not fitting. I thought I did something wrong and is necessary to undo and rebuild something. Doing this would be very difficult and would practically damage the item. Studying again and again the manual and the Youtube clip I realized that I only didn't understand very well how to fit the lid on top of the box (the part where Youtube clip say that two persons are necessary to do the job).After finishing the job I obtained a good looking and sturdy storage box.Because they didn't recommend to their customers a professional person for doing the mounting job of the item as they should and didn't give enough instructions for a safe delivery and because of the design errors I would give to producers 3 stars for this item. The Youtube clip is making this job to look way easier than it is in reality. For example the guy in the clip is sliding the lid support slow and easy (you can see this after 4 minutes and 15 seconds from beginning of Youtube clip mentioned above). I used a hammer to do the same "easy" slide.In my opinion they should provide an optional mounting service of the item.I give them 4 stars instead because of their intention to deliver a product above mediocre. I think they deserve to be encouraged because of this. The high difficulty of mounting this item has the good part that if is successfully finished the result is amazing. Indeed, if you can forget their errors you will be able to look at a good quality product hoping that will last "lifetime" as the name of it is. There is hope that these errors will be avoided in the future and next time you will buy a much better item. I see potential for this to happen.

Excellent product. Took a while to assemble but it was pretty straightforward without any problems.I did it alone mostly but needed a hand from the child for a few minutes with the roof/lid.There's a video by the manufacturer available on YouTube that helped too.The walls, floor and roof are a sturdy plastic, reinforced by a series of steel struts and supports, so its solid once put together and a pretty big space. I'm very happy with it.

Brilliant. More expensive than some but worth it. It's sturdy easy to put together and is waterproof.

I had this Lifetime horizontal shed for a while now I am very pleased with it and can store alot of items in it, I had one niggle one of the lifting struts kept slipping off it's stud, it seemed to have too much pressure so instead of closing it would slip off anchor stud so I bought metal ended struts, no more problems, apart from that it is great and it is totally waterproof, thank you.

This is the fifth lifetime storage box I've bought different styles but same size i have a large garden,they don't leak look the same years later they are double skinned so not flimsy like other ones you can buy instructions are good I can put one together in a hour now all you need is cordless screwdriver/ drill and two 11mm spanners or socket i would recommend these to anyone who needs a good strong storage box.

Needed a good quality garden storage box and looked at many of them and settled on this Lifetime 60298 492L It took only two hours to build on my own and 95% of the bits supplied fitted with no issues at all until I reached the final hinge bolt ! Either the hole position on the hinge was wrong or the plastic end piece was incorrectly manufactured ! Who knows which of the two it is but the end result was a choice of drilling the metal hinge to enlarge the hole or giving up with the supplied nut and bolt and fitting one of my own, which was slimmer, and which worked fine. It was a minor niggle but for the not inconsiderable cost these things should line up perfectly ! It absolutely poured with rain within hours of building it and continued overnight but upon checking the interior the next day it was bone dry. It is sturdy and should last some considerable time and if it stays waterproof I'll be a happy buyer. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. I was unable to leave a review of the delivery drivers sterling efforts so if I may, thank you sir you met every criteria for a well deserved 100% good review.

Instructions are awful, basically useless. Doesn’t come with any of the required tools, and the tools it requires are not at all common. There’s no premade holes, it doesn’t line up, and all in all: terrible. We bought this thinking it’d be a fairly simple snap-into-place container. My spouse and I have put together countless pieces of furniture, so we understand what it SHOULD be. Would not recommend to anyone who values their time and money.

Take Care for mounting, because it is easy, but you have to find the right tools and fix it not to strongBut in Germany, you can get the same for 40 eur less, so it is to expensive in Belgium ang the netherlands
