This stuff works!
So someone gave my elderly father the brilliant idea of using mothballs as an air freshener for his bedroom, and that's exactly what he did. He opened a bag of mothballs and placed the entire bag on his nightstand. The smell was horrendous. To make matters worse, he would often close his windows, which only intensified the odor. Whenever he opened his bedroom door, it only took a few seconds for the smell to permeate through the majority of the house, and it would stick around for hours. The smell was so strong it would cause me eye and stomach pains. My father's sense of smell is close to nonexistent, so he didn't understand why everyone was making a fuss, but just because it doesn't bother him doesn't mean no harm's being done. Long-term exposure is bad for your health, so I knew I had to do something. Plus, family stopped visiting because they couldn't stand the smell. After trying out different home remedies with no luck, I decided to purchase the "SMELLEZE Natural Mothball Smell Remover Deodorizer Granules (2 lbs)" along with the "SMELLEZE Reusable Mothball Smell Removal Deodorizer Pouch: Rids Chemical Odor Without Scents in 150 Sq. Ft." to help remove this godawful smell. The granules are gray in color, so on carpet, it looks like you dumped a ton of gravel, and it feels a bit gritty when stepped on. I instructed my father to use it as instructed, and within two weeks, the smell was completely gone. I was skeptical that these products could live up to their claims, but I'm so glad I was proven wrong. If you need to get rid of mothball odor, I highly recommend purchasing this product along with the pouch. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's so much cheaper than replacing carpets or hiring a specialist. I wish I had purchased this sooner because I wasted a lot of time and energy trying out alternative methods.

Does not remove mothball or perfume smells in wood dresser.
I was trying to remove the smell of mothballs that has been present for 15 years or longer since my parents passed. Other drawers have a perfume-like smell. This product wasn't effective in either case - no difference in smell or intensity. I'd like my money back.

Works Super Fast!
My landlord hired a new pest control guy to service our 100 year old wood frame apartment building. The pest control guy decided to keep critters out of the crawlspace under the building using mothballs. This is stupid (not to mention illegal) as mothballs are a pesticide with very strict usage requirements (read the packaging) and can contaminate groundwater and soil for years. The odor was coming through the cracks in our wooden floor but mostly through the air conditioning vents (I guess he threw a few mothballs in there for good measure). My landlord and I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the smell, we had the vents professionally cleaned, I sprayed a few bottles of fabreze into the AC intake. I used a professional "odor bomb" (like a bug bomb but with deodorant), candles, sprays, baking soda, everything, but nothing worked. Then, a Google search directed me to Smelleze's website. I bought a 2lb can and sprinkled a little into each vent in the house and into the intake. Within an hour the smell was almost gone - within a week it was gone completely! This stuff really works and fast. I probably spent over $100 trying to get rid of the odor and this stuff finally did it, i'm shocked that they don't sell it in retail stores(right next to the moth balls). On a personal note, it is astounding to me that anyone living in the 21st century would use mothballs for anything; they're toxic, they smell like death, they linger and there are effective alternatives that don't make you want to leave your house as much as the pests they get rid of.

Helped only a little
These helped a little but the moth ball smell in my RV lingers. Iโm going to use them again over the winter to see if they further help. Ps the moth balls didnโt keep the mice out!

Deodorizer Granules / Mothball
Was disappointed in results, instructions not provided to indicate how much to use to eliminate moth ball odor. Used what I thought was sufficient, but had to place item outside in the sun for several days to remove the odors. Not sure if this cedar chest was just saturated with odor and was more difficult to eliminate. I will try the product again with a different 'odor' to determine end results. Purchase price was reasonable and affordable, though would have liked to have additional information on use.

It works!
We pulled a mattress out of storage. It has been there for a little under 2 years. When it was in place- already in the room with bedding, the moth ball smell was horrendous! We tried febreeze, opening the window to air it out (w/o sheets), vacuuming, air fresheners. It was still bad. I googled what to do and this was the recommendation. I poured the pebbles into small containers and placed them under the bed in different areas. It worked. In 72 hours and 1 repour/refill, the room smells so much better.
