My new favorite tool!
This is an awesome saw. I can't believe I waited so long to order it. As Kreg claims, this saw cuts a perfectly straight line, as close to a factory edge as can be. The dust bag collects most of the saw dust, and it does fill quickly. The adjustable chip guard works very, very well. The saw allowed me to install all new solid oak stair treads and pine risers on a 1910 stair case. I was able to cut perfect 4 degree bevels to help ease the treads into place for a nice tight fit. I used a 5 degree bevel on the back of each tread to accept any extra adhesive, and keep it from oozing out of the joints. Best purchase I have made in some time. If I never use it again, the Kreg Plunge Saw saved me over $1,000 in installation costs. Great manufacturer, and great product.

Love this plunge saw
I recently retook an old hobby with woodworking, and this Kreg saw along with its companion multi functional table were the first things I purchased. This saw has plenty of power to cut through 3/4” panel (thickest I’ve cut so far). It is important to keep in mind that when doing crosscuts, the wood can easily chip or split… my recommendation is to use painter’s tape and draw a cut line on top of the tape to guide you and to prevent the wood from splitting. The splinter guard helps, but is not 100% effective, so you still get some splinters, hence my recommendation earlier. The dust port is very effective especially if you attach a vacuum. Through the last couple of months I’ve been using this saw, I estimate an 80 - 90% dust capture by attaching a vacuum. For anyone starting out, this means there’s less fine dust particles in the air, which reduces the risk of breathing those into your lungs (which can lead over time to breathing issues). Other things I like are how well the saw works with the Kreg track, you can easily adjust the saw with the guide to virtually eliminate any play, thus allowing you to make very precise cuts. Setting the plunge depth is easy, and the saw’s handle allows for push or pull, so if you’re like me (5’ 10”) or shorter, you can start your cut on one side, pause and go around to finish the cut without leaving marks. Hope this helps

Really like it
Really good saw. Have only used it a few times in a confined space. Looking forward to using it more in a space with plenty of room. I’m sure it will earn the last star when I get it all dialed in.

Cuts straight and INCREDIBLY smooth
Once you get the hang of positioning the track on the workpiece, it is an absolute joy to use. Most of the time, you do not deed to clamp the track in place because the sticky pads on the bottom do their job very well. I use a sheet of 3/4" insulating foam as a backer and just do sheetgoods cuts on the floor of my garage. The track is too short for ripping a 4x8 sheet the long way and a little too long for shorter crosscuts, but since I only have a small DW745 table saw, this gets used more than I thought it would. One tip: If you need to cut such that the track is not fully supported by the workpiece, use some scrap to hold up the side that is not resting on what it is you are cutting so that the whole track is parallel to the cutting surface. It takes a little time to catch on, but it works great. Did I mention that the cuts are super smooth? Better than any saw I have ever used. I love it.

Quality item
Great saw with the track. If you do long cuts on doors or other trim pieces it is a great tool to have. A little pricey but the end results are great. Would definitely buy again

Worthy purchase
Works as advertised. Sets up easily. Makes a perfectly straight cut. Would clamp down the track though. Blade makes a smooth cut.

I like it
Perfect I have no complaints. I’ve used multiple different brands of track saws and I like this one. It’s a good alternative to the very expensive ones. The real expensive ones definitely have features that this doesn’t have, but this does the trick for what I need to do which is breaking down large pieces of plywood to a more comfortable size to handle
