Nice little chalk bag with a unique lid. I normally use a draw string chalk bag that always poofs some chalk in my trunk and gets it everywhere. This bag has a small "lid" that's on the inside of the opening so there's less opportunity for chalk to get out. I wouldn't say it's fool proof or completely sealed, if the opening is being squished or compressed, chalk could still find its way out, but there's no small opening like I have with my draw string bag. I also like that this has structure and sits upright instead of falling on it's side. I normally don't climb with the bag around my waist and prefer to leave it on the mat, so this stays up and there's less risk of it falling over and spilling chalk. Given the harder, more firm structure of the top, I probably wouldn't recommend having this attached to you if you're bouldering, I imagine it wouldn't feel nice if you were to fall and land on it. I haven't used the pockets yet, but it's a nice feature if I ever need to put my membership card or some bandaids tucked away and the material seems durable. The lid can be locked in place with a button.

I use chalk bags for dog training; they're an excellent way to carry dog treats around and have zippered pockets for plastic bags, clickers, etc.When I saw this chalk bag I really liked the thought that had gone into the design. In using it, it's clear it is sturdy and well-made. Fairly bright, so not easy to lose.What I really like: the waist strap is very secure and has a folded/elasticated section that permanently tethers the end of the strap. No more flimsy waist strap ends flapping around and constantly getting in my way when I move. The strap itself stays at the length where you set it, so once I get the belt on, I don't have any surprises where the bag is suddenly down at my feet because the strap opened up. Generous zippered pockets (one hidden on the body side). Nicely fleeced inside and the fleece doesn't slide around, ride up and get stuck in my hand when I reach in to grab treats.What doesn't work as well for me: Because of the rigid neck and snap closure, the bag is a little big for my size. It won't fold completely so it ends up taking more room in my kit than other chalk bags. I wear it at my back, so reaching around to get the snap undone takes some doing (or I need to undo it and rotate it around). Once unsnapped, you can prop the lid open as it stays folded partway. (Again, doing this behind my back.) This is handy but with the opening so wide there's a chance I'm going to drop everything out accidentally.... I personally don't need that much room for my hand to reach in -- I might still prefer the zip-cord style of chalk bag.I've you've got a more muscled arm and larger hand, this will be the perfect size for you.

This chalk bag is well made and a good size. I picked it up for my son who is a beginner rock climber. He says it’s great but he’s new to the sport. More seasoned climbers may feel differently but for our purposes, it’s a good find.

I have many uses for this when it's not carrying chalk. It's very handy and versatile!

This chalk bag is larger than I expected at about 8" high x 6" wide x 5" deep. The material is a durable polyester fiber and the lid has a fabric hinge to make opening and closing easy. The inside is lined with a soft fleece fabric.The bag has two zipper pockets, one on the front and one on the bag to hold cell phone, keys, etc. There are 4 elastic loops (2 on each side) to hold brushes, and a detachable, adjustable belt.This bag is a great accessory for indoor rock climbing and the price is good for the quality.
