Should I change all 3 baskets at once or would it be better to do it in stages so that some benificial bacteria remains whilst the new one establishes

When I bought my tank I was told to change 1 and move them all along one so the dirtiest one gets changed each time. I was also told to only change it once a month. We have a small tank.

Do thy use two cages at a time ?

Hi. Not sure exactly what you mean by your question but hope this helps. Firstly, you need to use your original cages. Each cage uses one refill. The image shows a photograph of the cage open and the cage closed. So if your aquarium has 3 cages, a pack of 6 of these refills is good for 2 separate filter changes. Hope that makes it clear. By the way, full instructions come with the refills but they are very easy to change.

Fish filters.

It's gd as replacements. I thought that they came in the cages but it's just the inserts, sobmake sure you have some cages to put them in.
