A good game but win 10 can be a problem
I already had this but had lost the code so could no longer play it on my newer PC. This arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I installed it and found like many of my older games it would not run on windows 10. There is a workaround you can find on you tube but I was able to get an old laptop with win 7 back up and running and it works just fine on that. The problem is windows 10 NOT the game or the supplier and you can get round it with a bit of work. Remember this is an old game for windows XP if I remember correctly. This is a great game for fans of C&C and I recommend it.

So much promise, So little delivery ( New labour to sum up)
Having been a fan of the previous games and having seen some great demos for the game I was left quite disappointed. Both the graphics and gameplay are excellent. The controls very easy to pick and the 3D graphics are a great improvement. But the game lacks a plot. There is no introduction e.g. why are the GLA fighting and you simply go from mission to mission with no real information or cut scenes. The missions themselves are to short and very easy even on brutal level. The last mission on US is the easist of the US missions of which there are only 7!!. The mission are made easier by the AI which is not intelligent enough to provide any real challenge. It does not take advantage of its resources. it will build a little group of units and attack you, which you will kill easily and then it will do it again and again. For me this is a work in progress lets hope a future game incorportaes the new graphics and some of the features of the old games that made CnC so successful. Stick with Red Alert 2.

EA's Last Crime
I'm gonna get stright to the point with this review: In committing their latest heinous crime (to the gaming world), by buying out Westwood Studios, EA have evidently forced Westwood to rush this game. Put bluntly, it feels unfinished. The classic RTS interface that had accompanied all of the other C&C games where all of the options were contained in one menu has been replaced with building-specific menus that can only be accessed by clicking on said buildings; whilst this may have at first seemed a logical progression, it actually detracts from the gameply, as you are constantly having to scroll all the way back to your base if you want to do anything, which in the middle of a battle is very distracting. Therefore, I don't think that Westwood spent enough time actually trying out this new interface before deciding on its implementation. That's the major rant over, now onto the rest of the game. C&C Generals IS classic Command and Conquer; it retains all of the original's style of play and compelling mission structure, with very varied mission objectives and three playable factions, so it is undoubtably fun to play. However, the main problem lies with it's longevity, as there simply aren't enough new units to stop the gameplay from becoming very repetitive very quickly, in fact, there are probably less units that there were in Tiberian Sun. Secondly, and the reason main why I feel this game was rushed is the length of the campaigns: Each faction's single player campaign has only seven missions, yes, just seven! This means that you could theoretically complete the game in a week, or less. Even the original C&C had 20+ missions for both the GDI and NOD forces. Finally, the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. Many people have commented on how nice the graphics are, and whereas I will not dissagree that at times they look nice, even at maximum resolution they still look rather blocky and dated. The impressive visuals come when you use the special weapons, such as the Particle Cannon, Fuel-Air Bomb and Nuclear Missile, with blinding blasts of light and very impressive flame effects which all cause maximum devastation, and are fun to use. In fact, I would say that the special weapons and unit upgrades, are the only features of C&C Generals that lift it above average status, as when it boils down to it, it is unfortunately just another RTS, which doesn't even have the high-camp cut scenes of the other C&C games to make it fun. Thanks Electronic Arts for ruining another license and liquidating probably the last great games company. Westwood, we will remember you.

Awesome game!
This game is quite old now but it still ranks as one of the best games around. Fantastic playability, along with great graphics and humour. You will need all your strategy skills to excel in the theatre of war. This game is ace!
