How do you attach your phone to it

You need to buy a Brodit compatible mount separately. I personally have this, and I've bought a Quad Lock phone case and wireless charging mount. Look them up. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. I have since migrated to the Quad Lock dash mount, which is suction based. Fits at a much more usable height.
