Q: Is it correct this drains batteries even when you turn it off with the power button and if you remove the batteries you lose your settings?

I haven't tried removing the batteries, because putting in and out six batteries seems like a giant pain, but yes, with the power button off, it drains batteries. I just ordered the a/c adaptor (14.29) and that should solve my problem, because it IS a nice little labeler, despite the battery drain. Hope this helps! -K.
