It works!
Works as advertised, no complaints. I use to hold chain saws in the vise, mostly, but works to avoid marring the clamped material, like wood or plastic, or the steel of a chainsaw bar. And, does not move in the vise, the magnets work for me on the work I do.

Worth using.
These are great.

Great soft vice jaws
They are well made and get the job done. They fit well and provide protection but still hold items firmly in place. Just wish there was another magnet or they were a little bit stronger but thatโs being picky.

Help prevent scratches.
Got this initially to work on a wood stock while installing a barrel, but should be useful for anything you want to clamp down without scratching surfaces. I like that it also has cutouts to help hold on to cylindrical bodies, like barrels. They magnetically clip on and off, so it's super easy to use with your existing bench vise.

Great for woodworking
My Yost vise is a great all-around bench vise, but the teeth on it easily mar metal, let alone a wood project I don't want to get all scratched up. These soft jaws allow me to use my bench vise on woodworking projects until I get a dedicated woodworking vise on my workbench. The cutouts in these are useful too - I needed to drill a 45ยบ hole into the corner of a piece recently and the grooves in these jaws made it easier. I've also used the circular cutouts to help while sanding down some dowels. I'd prefer if the magnets were a bit stronger, but once you've clamped down on something, they won't shift anyway, so not worth removing a star.

Just plastic and magnets that work well together
For my intended use, holding an octagon rifle barrel in the vise so I can draw file it, these are great.

Useful, but not up to the compensator/barrel nut removal.
First, don't make the same mistake I did - I misread "thermoplastic" as "thermoset plastic" there's a big difference. These will absolutely melt. I'm sure they work great for many things, I loved the magnets to hold them to the vise jaws, but they simply aren't solid enough for anything serious. Trying to get the compensator off my AR, I found that no matter how tight I clamped the barrel in, these would deform and pull through the vise when I applied the torque necessary to break the compensator free. For light duty stuff these work fine, I'm sure and mine are still useful despite my heated barrel partially melting them, but for torque, save yourself the headache, don't mess with these or the other vise blocks for uppers. Get an upper receiver rod from Midwest Industries (or others may make them, as well). It's not cheap, but it's solid and fits in the upper like a bolt, with a square end for the vise. It's very hard steel, probably weighs 5lbs, but there's no comparison to other products, especially for putting torque on your barrel/upper. It won't move at all.
