Schwinn Fitness IC Indoor Cycling Bike Series

during the beginning of the covid 19 pandemic and my gym closure in march 2020 i started looking into getting my own spin bike and after reviewing many and reading loads of reviews and i decided to try this one. it had great reviews by it seemed like reputable/believable spinners without breaking the bank and ending up with something useless. unfortunately when i finally decided to make the purchase it ended up being out of stock everywhere! luckily i was able to purchase here with a ship date to come when available and i did. i honestly wasn't sure if would ever get but i did. ordered 5/15/20 and 5/29 got email stating would be shipped 6/1/20! so happy! received with no problems, it didn't take my husband long to put it together, he was actually very impressed for the price how well constructed it was. i use it several times a week and haven't had any problems with it at all. its very quite , works well with my clips in my spin sneakers without changing. i had no problem with adjustments for height and forward positions. i like the media rack which holds my ipad well which i use for spin workouts. even though the water bottle holder is little awkward when have ipad there, its not that big of deal to me to just reach over to get it. the lcd console is also fine for me, i mostly look at the rpms when doing workouts which is how my classes at the gym usually used. i'm also good with the fly wheel adjustment knob. if you have taken spin classes you get to know those by feel mostly and don't need numbers or anything, especially since different bikes even if same brand can be slightly different. not sure if seat is harder than i was used to or just had to retrain my bottom to get past that initial sore bottom muscles you get when starting to spin for 1st time. since did go from spinning 3-4 times a week to nothing for about 3 months. however, i did decide to buy a seat cover which i had never used or needed before and it does make it more comfortable. bought $29 gel black gel one which is great after buying a non gel one for $35 which didn't work good at all. also bought a $18 supermats to put under my bike to protect flooring which also works great. this is a heavy piece of equipment but not that bad to move when need to. overall i am extremely happy so far with this spin bike! it was well worth the little over $500 sale price i got it for.

Excellent quality. Smooth, consistent operation. Very simplistic and not overly technical.

Quiet, solid bike which my friends and I easily assembled. Would not have been able to do it by myself because it’s too heavy for one person and you need more than 2 hands. Because of the size of the handles to tighten, the adjustability on the seat front to back and on the handlebars front to back is limited. I need the handlebars further back but the handle is right in the way so it can’t be moved further than that. Really that is my only complaint, other than that it is quiet and I have gotten several good rides out of it thus far.Additional info 1 year after owning: because the bike resistance works off pads compressing the wheel, the sound the pads make as they wear is a horrible high pitched squeal. I advise buying one model up because that resistance works off a magnet and not pads.After 2 years of having this, I wish I had gone up to the more recent model. The resistance on this bike works by the pad squeezing onto the wheel, which slows the bike. After a while, the pad wears down and there is the horrible squealing noise that others have mentioned. I’d buy a bike that uses a magnet for resistance over this mechanism if I could do it over.

I just got this product less than a week ago, so keep that in mind. I love it. It was easy to assemble, incredibly quiet, and has everything that you need. It is neither bare bones nor comes with all the bells and whistles (e.g. fancy screen stuff). I love the spot where you can easily put in your phone or your tablet to follow a virtual ride. I also love how the water holder is on the top and not between your knees for safety reasons. I use an app on my phone and have it airplay on my tv. I am using free apps or youtube videos o far, but will prob end up getting a subscription to one once I do some trials. My phone is like a controller, so it's easy to adjust volume, start, and stop.I find it much better than the ones at gyms, but it may be because it is brand new :) The only minus I can think of = I cannot find any levels for resistance on the screen. This makes it difficulty to replicate similar rides or similar effort among work-outs. Also, you have turn the knob a lot to increase or lower resistance. I prefer the knobs to be a little more sensitive so that I can adjust faster.Other than that, this bike is so great! I would buy another, and I just might so that my partner and I can spin together. It is very smooth, sturdy, and all the parts move like you need them to (including the adjustable ones). I'm hoping it lasts a long time.

AssemblyFirst of all this bike is very heavy! As the box says, it needs at least two people to move it. I felt bad for the UPS person who delivered it, I wasn’t sure if I should stand and wait by the porch to help. This comes in a box smaller than the indoor bikes sold at Sam’s Club and Costco. Upon opening the box, the styrofoam was falling apart so keep your vacuum cleaner or broom nearby. This bike is very easy to assemble and they pre-screwed most screws so you know there’s enough and you won’t go wrong. You don’t need to get your toolbox out because it comes with it’s own wrench, screwdriver and allen wrench. The illustrations in the instruction booklet are easy to understand and big enough. It’s easier to assemble than tables or chairs sold at Amazon.ManeuverabilityYou have to decide which floor or the house you want it before you start assembling it. Once put together it’s not the easiest to move around. It comes with the small wheels in front just like most other indoor bikes.I’ve been to different spin classes in different gyms in different countries throughout the years. This bike appears to be more high quality than the Stages SC3 bike in my old gym. The build is great and it appears very sturdy. I’m very pleased with the feel I get when I pedal. It kinda reminds me of BodyBike but that brand is in another level (and is 4x the price, too). Pedals are SPD which is great.To motivate me I’m trying out the Peloton app on my living room TV where my bike is. Monthly subscription is not that expensive (only their bikes are!!) and classes are fun. I’ve been doing Les Mills’ RPM for years but will have to decide soon between Peloton app and LM OnlineTo be honest my expectations were really low because of the price. But thank goodness, I got a great bike. Schwinn really means business—they have a US hotline you can call if you’re having problems with your bike. I’m not sure how warranty and getting your bike fixed will be for me since I don’t live in a big metropolitan city.

This is an update after 3 1/2 months and over 50 hours of online spinning type classes.I am an outdoor cyclist and figure this bike has now seen the equivalent of around 800 miles on a road bike. I have been reading reviews and it seems that there is some quality inconsistency -- mine is great; other folk have problems. I find the bike to be sturdy and reliable. I ride pretty hard both in and out of the saddle (that's what spinning classes do) and use a variety of resistances from easy (high pedal rate/"flat road) to low pedal rate, high resistance simulating hill climbing.I have had one significant issue so far -- The display stopped working after only a couple of weeks. Schwinn support was good except they mis-diagnosed the problem. They felt is was a faulty sensor and sent a new one. Since the display began to work again a few days later I diagnosed it as sweat getting into the connector (I sweat profusely during the ride and the display and wiring get soaked). So I used duct tape to protect the vulnerable area and that worked. I never did swap out the sensor. More on the display later.I also developed a small noise in the pedals after about 30 hours. I tightened them up and was good-to-go again. I think it is good to check and tighten moving parts periodically to prevent problems. For those who are concerned about all of the complaints about pedal problems you should note that so many of them are concerning the left pedal. I think some people do not realize that the left pedal is threaded opposite direction. Screwing it in clockwise (normal direction) will result in cross threading and early failure!Now, back to the display. The electronic display would be much more useful if the cadence information was not alternating with the speed data. The only two true pieces of data are the cadence and heart rate — they should both be in their own area on the display. The speed, distance and calories are not at all accurate since they do not take into account the resistance of the felt brake pad. More brake pressure simulates a higher gear and, therefore, would result in a higher speed for the same cadence. Similarly, calories burned are a function of both cadence and resistance so are therefore not accurate (resistance not taken into account). My suggestion is to move the speed information to alternate with the distance information.Since the heart rate on the display only recognizes a limited number of HR monitors (and not mine) I devised another solution. I removed the display and for about $10 got the same bracket I use on my road bicycle to hold my iPhone (it clamps onto the handlebars). I now can use my heart rate monitor and my cadence monitor from my bike for an accurate display (my phone). AND it then gives me a record of the workout by time including calories burned. Using an app like Strava I can now keep track of my workouts in a way that I can see progress (or lack thereof).Another minor issue is that if you sweat a lot, the front fender needs to be a bit longer to prevent sweat from dripping onto the flywheel’s circumference. When sweat from my head drips onto the flywheel it changes the resistance generated by the felt braking mechanism. I made an extension using part of a Weber BBQ drip pan attached by duct tape.Read my "first impressions" review below for the multiple user issue I discuss -- not a problem for me but might be for some!Bottom line: Great bike at a fraction of the price of the well known "professional" bikes. I have gotten used to changing the resistance using the knob and find it easy to follow online spinning classes and get great workouts. I have had good experience with response to questions, etc. from Nautilus (Schwinn) customer service. Had to wait on hold for longer than I would have liked but I understand this problem since sales have been so strong that the customer service lines are swamped. Exercise equipment became the new "toilet paper" due to Covid-19. The warranty on this bike is great and I am thankful that I found a way to exercise vigorously to keep my sanity until this Covid-19 thing is over!--------------------------------------------------------------------This is a "first impressions" review. The bike arrived on time, well packaged and in good condition. Assembly was straightforward (took 1 hour for me to assemble alone). There are two points in assembly where a second person would have been helpful -- getting the stuff out of the box (without destroying the box), and attaching the front and rear stabilizers (requires elevating the attach points). Both difficulties are because the bike is heavy with heavy flywheel and those become pluses for the riding experience.I have ridden it one time so far and the bike is extremely stable, smooth and quiet. It feels like the bikes in spinning class.One big drawback: If you plan to share this bike with another person (or several) it will be difficult for each to consistently set it the same way each time. There are four adjustments: seat height and fore-aft position; handlebar height and fore-aft position. Only the seat height can be consistently set (pin into holes). The other three settings have no specific position markings and the only way to re-set to the same position after they have been changed would be with a ruler or tape measure. Additionally, these three adjustments are secured by screwing in adjustment handles which cause pins to bear on the corresponding post. They have to be torqued down pretty hard to avoid wobble and, I believe, repetitive re-setting positions will cause failure to lock in the positions without wobble.

LOVE THIS BIKE! After extensive research on spin bikes and talking myself out of spending 3k on a Peloton, this is the bike I chose. I chose this over any of the Sunny bikes because of the Schwinn brand reputation and customer service availability in the chance that I do run into any issues. I really didn’t want a felt resistance bike but I couldn’t find an affordable magnetic resistance bike that had good enough reviews. After getting this put together and riding every day for a week, I really don’t mind the felt resistance at all. I stream the peloton app to my TV and have had some awesome rides! Easy to put together and it’s a pretty quiet ride, no squeaks or clunks or anything like some others have experienced. The seat seemed a bit loose when I was putting it together but it’s been find to ride on and hasn’t felt wobbly or anything. I spin often at CycleBar so I thought my booty could handle the hard seat, but man the seat is HARD! I might replace with a different seat if I still find it uncomfortable after another week or so. This bike also came with SPD clips so you don’t have to buy separately!

This bike was great. And then it wasn’t! I read the reviews befor I purchased about the loud squel the resistance pad makes, I didn’t think much of it and man did I blow it! Listen people it’s super loud a very stupid problem, I m super handy, I can build anything and fix anything, it’s not fixable! Head phones up high is the only way around it. I and my wife ride the bike daily and have had it for about a year and three months now. The bike is nice don’t get me wrong, it seems to be very high quality. After about 100 rides It starts to get worn out. The clicking like everyone says began about 4-5 months about 100 rides in and now I believe the bearing in the pedals has completely separate as the shaft is moving about an inch left or right and is now fully broken. I will replace the bearing myself and keep using the bike but it shouldn’t break in a year! Its a Schwinn they usually make very high quality product. BUY A DIFFERENT BIKE! My buddy has a $200 sunny brand or something no problems. I wish I wasn’t stuck with this thing now but it was $500 I’m not just going to go buy another. And on a positive note I did loose 30 lbs riding this bike so thanks for that. I use the Studio sweat app it’s great try it $100 a year many classes. And to clarify I weigh about 185 LB now when I started I was 30 LB heavier. I feel the bike should be able to handle that. Good luck!Update 4/3/21Bike sat for a year no use after the pedal shaft bent. I have now taken apart the entire bike and replaced with new parts provided by Schwann. They were great about the parts, came fast and free. I replaced everything, again the bearing is now moving left to right in the pearls causing a loud clunking and the bike it’s broken.Schwann I have given up. I actually added a shaft lock on the bike which made the clunking go away for a time, the c clip that hold the shaft to the bearings is off by about a mm and is machined incorrectly. It’s not fixable. I want a refund but I know that won’t happen. I hope anyone who reads this does not buy this disaster. It been such a disappointment. The repair shop wants $350 to go through it and replace the bearings for the second time, no way! I just said screw it and purchased the peloton, I wish everyone luck dont buy the POS!

Excelente, valeu cada centavo. Muito diferente de qualquer outra bike de spinning que ja usei em academia.Qualidade do exercício é muito melhor. O assento é ok, depois de uns dias acostuma.

I am an older guy, and I needed a straight-forward comfortable bike. This one fits the bill. It seems to be very sturdy and solid. Moving it to the basement (in pieces) was a challenge though, it's heavy. If you are going to assemble this bike yourself, I strongly recommend that you get the Youtube video, released by Schwinn, showing how to assembling an IC3 bike. The video is outstanding! Don't try to assemble it using the manual, get the video. I was surprised that the stablizer bolt holes did not quite line up with the bolt holes in the frame. However we were able to put in the bolts. Overall a relatively easy assembly (thanks to my wife who found the video).Update: I found the seat that comes with the bike to be far to narrow for me. I ordered a Schwinn Extra Comfort seat from a a company affiliated with Schwinn. I checked the Schwinn website to determine which seat would be compatible with this bike. They only listed one seat as being compatible. The new seat is far more comfortable. It was a bit of a challenge to connect to the both through.

Es una bicicleta profesional. muy cómoda , con mucha estabilidad, suave al pedaleo., muy fácil de armar., estoy empezando a hacer spinnig y por lo pronto estoy de feliz con ella . Es lo mejor que he tenido en casa

Amo la bicicleta, es muy cómoda y realmente se siente el trabajo en ella.Solo pido que eviten el servicio de Estafeta, ya que la bicicleta llegó con un doblez en una de las bases, debido a que no envían a dos personas en la distribución y el repartidor pudo haberla dañado al bajarla. Logré componerla y quedó perfecta.

Eu havia pesquisado bastante uma bike de Spinning . E essa marca foi eleita a melhor no quesito qualidade, ergonomia etc. Eu queria comprar a IC4 pela conectividade. Mas pensei melhor e resolvi investir na IC3 que é tão boa quanto e tem poucas diferenças que pra mim, valeu mais a pena pegar a ic3. Estava muito ansiosa e chegou antes do prazo. Faço questão de deixar meu depoimento aqui, estou muito satisfeita. Meu marido montou no mesmo dia em menos de uma hora e já usamos, nossaaa perfeita. Até o banco achei confortável em comparação a tantas bikes que já pedalei. Mas comprei uma capa acolchoada. Realmente a melhor bike ergonometrica. Eu sou alta 1,73 e amei. O preço é alto mas considere um investimento. Bem melhor que pagar barato em uma bike sem qualidade … E ficar frustrado depois. O que me ajudou bastante foi os comentários positivos dessa bike. E foi realmente a melhor escolha!
