The nature of free form is that you do what ever you want without a pattern, but this book is so inspiring if you are just getting into free form. It gives tips, techniques, motifs you can use as a basis for your own design. It has so many beautiful examples it makes your mouth water. Love it.

It is not often that I follow a pattern in print, as I have always preferred to have the idea in my head of how I want the finished item to look, then make it up as I go along to achieve the desired effect. This book is perfect for me as it allows me to introduce other textiles into my crochet to go beyond my comfort zone and explore new dimensions in freefrom. I am now experimenting with felting to go with my peg loom work that I already incorporate into my crochet.

I love this book! I have several freeform crochet books but I am so glad I bought this one!!! All these books are a bit limited in what they can teach you as freeform is freeform but I love the new stitches and colour ideas that they present and this book is no exception!!! It is the ideas that come from reading the book that excite me to make something that is completely original.

This book has lovely colourful pictures and explains many different types of motif. However, some of the instructions lack detail slightly and this can make them hard to follow - I would imagine very hard for a beginner.

This is a very inspiring book. There are no patterns as such but there is a lot of guidance as far as using the techniques yourself. Some of the designs are unique - they are things which I have not seen in ordinary crochet books. Definitely very satisfied with the service too.

This book is everything I hoped for and more. I have become really "hooked" on freeform crochet and am already half-way through my first cushion cover. But be warned - it is very addictive ! I find I get carried away when making a new "scrumble" and time just runs away with me. Late dinners and dust on the furniture are commonplace results!If you love crochet treat yourself to this book and I guarantee you will get hooked too. I have also taught myself tunisian crochet from the very clear instructions in this book. In fact, all the instructions are so clear I think even complete beginners would be able to follow them. Not showing clearly how to do, Pattern with instruction would be good.Lots of illustrations which I can find on pinterest.

Wonderful book,very easy to understand , got some fantastic ideas , been wanting to try freeform for a while, this book will definitely help. Love it!!!!!

Voilà un livre qui mériterait d'être traduit en français. On pourrait dire aussi que nous mériterions de le lire en français...tellement plus commode pour ce qui est technique.C'est un livre exposant les motifs utilisables pour une technique créative ( et non pas un livre de modèles). Tableaux, chapeaux, bijoux ou coussins réalisés y figurent pourtant (et sont formidables à mon goût).Les diagrammes sont très clairs, comme déjà indiqué par d'autres lecteurs, et leurs symboles bien décrits.Par contre les diagrammes ne suffisent pas forcément pour des points comme les "bullions" et autres nopes et il faut trouver ou s'inventer des trucs et astuces pour les réaliser avec de la laine ( plus facile au coton) avant de pouvoir s'y mettre vraiment.Ces trucs manquent un peu ...à mon sens. Mme Kirkpatrik évoque d'ailleurs cette difficulté et j'aurais volontiers appris ces solutions à elle. Les français sont en manque de livres de qualité aux niveaux innovants dans ce domaine, je trouve.Bref! Ce n'ai pas commode mais cela en vaut sérieusement la peine, et le livre me semble incontournable pour cette façon de penser la laine et le crochet.
