Pokémon Violet +The Hidden Treasue of Area Zero DLC

The game itself is great, good story, good amount of hours worth of playtime. It's just the performance of the software that lets it down, in typical Nintendo fashion. When certain areas are busy and lots of assets are being loaded in, it can get hella framey. Or if the weather is snowing or raining, be prepared for a significant amount of stuttering. For a long time Pokémon fan like myself, you're going to want to play it anyway (probably), for a newbie, I probably wouldn't recommend this as an introduction into the Pokémon world.I do however, like the new generation of Pokémon we've got. There's some really good, tanky ones in there. The new Tera typings add an extra dimension to battles/raids.Overall, it's a good game in itself. If you can deal with the frame rate issues you're good.

I purchased this as I prefer to get the physical version of pokemon DLCs in case I decide to sell them in the future.The base game is overall good, providing a fun open world game which yes does have some flaws/bugs but is still fun nevertheless. The story within the game is great with you exploring as you please and enjoying the new mechanic, terastalising.The DLC provides two new areas to explore and both have separate stories that are woven into each other. The first area to explore is kitakami and the second area is blueberry academy.These are not short stories and take hours to complete which means they provide entertainment for a long time.So far I have not encountered any major issues or bugs with the DLC and so it seems pretty polished in my opinion.

My son is a massive pokemon fan. He has rated it 7 out of 10

The main purpose of this bundle is to have the complete game, including the DLC, on the cart. I suppose having the 1st DLC on the cart and containing a licence to download the 2nd DLC gets us halfway there. This bundle was clearly rushed out for Christmas.Sadly, the DLC doesn't resolve the performance issues with the game.
