Reliable and good
Battery life is good. Lasts all day on water. Easy to use, can charge using USB C or using charger cradle. No issues

THIS RADIO IS NOT USB-C CHARGEABLE!!!!!!!!
This handheld marine VHF radio claims to be chargeable by USB-C. In fact, this device can only be charged by a USB cable originating in a USB-A plug, so you will still need a USB-A compatible charger. Of course you can pack around a charging base station if you really enjoy carrying around extra proprietary garbage. "All correct USB-C sink devices need to do is present a simple pull-down resistor (called "Rd") on each of the CC pins on their side (either receptacle or plug). It's clearly documented in the USB-C specification that this is the way things must be done." This bad manufacturing only occurs in very shoddy devices where the company and/or engineer tries to skip out on a couple of ten cent relays making the device not compatible to USB-C specifications. Beyond that, the radio is extremely heavy and bulky compared to other brands I carry every day. It has FM radio for some random reason. No button to keep the display back light on which is annoying. Reception and broadcast is as good as any other handheld VHF. It simply doesn't do anything very well, and a few things poorly. Disappointed across the board. Have fun trying to call their customer service line, it's been simply dead half the time I've called, and the other half was a 30min game of phone tag only to talk to a rep who sounded like he's never used a VHF before. I'll be going back to Icom, Uniden or any of the other tried and true brands that I've trusted my life with for decades.

Solid radio, but USB-C charging is not compatible with standard chargers
Standard Horizon makes great radios, and this one works as you'd expect. The problem is that the USB-C charging port only accepts "dumb" power from an old-style adapter. The charger that came with your phone or laptop, any of the modern third-party USB-C adapters from Anker, Belkin, or even Apple that try to negotiate the highest supported level of power for each device, will not work.
