Great ski com system. doubles the pleasure of group skiing.
Disclaimer: We have returned the purchased set because we got it as a gift from our kids right after. We just got back from Vail CO ski trip, where we had a chance to use and test it thoroughly. My wife and I became addicted on the ability to communicate while skiing, I can't imagine us skiing without it, and am not sure how did we managed before. You just have to remember to mute the mic on ski lift to avoid hearing the echo. Full days of skiing 9am-4 pm battery remains between 50 and 75% the temps were on the warmer side, I'd think in cold it would be 50-25% so charge before you go skiing. Range... while we have no tested it on purpose, I'd imaging being on opposite sides of a mountain would not works, but while we were skiing together and even with me getting down to the bottom lift much faster than my wife we never lost communications, compare to POC helmet built in system it was night and day. Mounting, at first, when I handled helmet in hands, the cardo system feels loose being clipped to the helmet straps, when you ski you do not even know it is there, feels awesome. Controls are very v=well thought out, no problem using them with gloves on. Pricy ? Sure especially if you have a large family or group, but definitely worth it. I got a usb-c triple headed charging pigtail, to charge all simultaneously, to expedite and reduce manual operations in charging. Music quality , and ease of answering a phone call are great, but I am a big proponent of not doing wither when skiing. Integrates well with Zello app for cellular push to talk function, while not hands free (need to hold a button) it erases range limits and you can talk to someone in Australia while skiing.

Works well & does what it's supposed to.
First off, I was really interested in the Milo, but they weren't shipping when I needed them to (I don't know if they're even shipping yet 4/2023). I decided to go with the Cardo because; the price is the same, they're ready to ship, & Cardo has a good history of similar products in the motorcycle world. I'm glad I went this way. The system works as advertised. You can talk hands free across some pretty good distance. I had no issue synching up 5 units together & all of us talking to one another. I've used this skiing & it lasts all day out on the hill. When I power it down it says that there is still 50% battery. Once the units are all paired together, they will re-pair when powered up next to each other the next day. The unit has controls on it that are easy to access & manipulate with ski gloves on, there's also voice command but I didn't really use it that much. But once you learn what buttons do what command, it's pretty intuitive. This has no built in speaker, so you need to use the provided speaker/mic. They really only fit in the ear pads of a helmet, so you'll need to have that. They do provide stick on options but I don't know where you might mount them on a helmet. Maybe if you have an old pair of headband style headphones, you could rig it up into that. Maybe Cardo will make something. The alternative is to use the plug in jack, where you can plug in a pair of corded headphones with a mic so that you get the full function. IT DOES NOT WORK WITH CORDED HEADPHONES WITH A VOLUME UP/DOWN BUTTON!!! So no apple headphones. I picked up a pair of in ear Sony headphones that work with it. You typically mount it on the side chin straps of the helmet, but a sticky tab is provided for a full face helmet. The clip would work on a backpack strap as well if you don't wear a helmet. To get the most out of it; play music, answer phone calls, adjust the volume levels, etc., you need to pair it with your phone & the app. If you have more than one, I'd suggest pairing & updating with each persons phone so that you don't end up having issues figuring out which unit is paired with your own phone. Once paired, it's really great to listen to music in the background of the entire conversation. Your own music only plays for your unit, not everyone else's. Limits: While skiing, having a hill or mountain blocking caused the units to cut in & out at about a 1/2 mile. If there was someone with another unit between, it helped add strength & distance to the connection. There were no issues with trees, it was really just limited by piles of earth. One annoying thing is the length of the announcement when 'group connection is lost'. If you're apart from your group, but just on the edge of it, you'll jump in & out of the connection, & you'll keep getting announcements. I also wish it worked with apple headphones. One last thing is the delay. It's not an issue if you're away from each other, but riding up the chairlift you hear yourself talk back to you because you get picked up by other mics & you hear the person twice (like an echo) because you hear their voice direct, then the transmitted voice. Not a big issue, easy to just mute your mic or mute the conversation, but something you might not expect. I'm seeing another unit advertised at a much cheaper price point, but it's still in the kickstarter phase so who knows if that gets off the ground. The cardo is ready to ship & it works. I really like using it & it's going to be Christmas/birthday gifts for the rest of the family that skis & boards. I highly recommend these, but your milage may vary depending on the company you keep.

Can't believe I waited so long to buy this!
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! My husband and I snowboard together quite often. This helps us keep track of where the other person is when we get seperated. You have to be within a certain distance of each other to be able to communicate (a quarter mile? I forget), but when you do get too far apart, it lets you know that the connection was lost. It's not gonna connect across the mountain, but if you're on the same slope or nearby slopes, you will be able to connect. It will connect with bluetooth to your phone and play your music. It's easy to adjust the volume on the side of the headset, even while wearing gloves. When someone in your group talks, it will just go over your music--not stop your music, which is great. I tend to talk alot while riding and it would be super annoying to my hubby if my talking interrupted his music, LOL. He even gets to hear my funny noises when I wipe out. The battery life is amazing! My phone battery dies well before the packtalk dies. Easy to place in your helmet earflaps. I got it on Black Friday special, so saved a little bit of money. Pricing here at Amazon is exactly the same as direct from Cardo. If you have kiddos, this would be a perfect way to keep track of them when you're on the same slope. If you've been thinking of getting one of these, just do it--I promise you won't regret the decision.

Game changer if you ski with kids keeps contact especially like in Alps, big mountains, back country
I must write a review on this item. I push ALL my friends with kids especially to buy these. I have 2 kids ages 10 and 12 when we first started using these. Game changer! No more "turning around" to talk to kids or stopping to talk and they don't make "white noise" or any kind of noise on the slopes when others are not talking and the distance is great - like 1/2 a mile or something and around ridges, you might lose each other a bit but it automatically comes back if you get separated a bit. I ski all over the world and I want to be in touch with my 2 kids wondering which path or turn they will take and they like to talk to me but safety is paramount in places like the Alps, Aspen, etc. and when you stop to talk or turn around, accidents and injuries happen. I do NOT use them for music and won't allow my kids to either as again, safety first. I cannot recommend such an awesome device more for skiing (maybe for other sports too but never tried). Skiing is critical to have proper equipment and communication especially when snow starts falling heavily and with kids. Take the time to VERY carefully read instructions on this on how to install in the helmet correctly and to "connect" the devices BEFORE you get on the mountain or you'll lose your mind the first time! Ha! Once you set them up and connect them, the next time you turn them on, they should all automatically connect and then just ski! If you "lose" that initial connection, tricky to repair them so pair them in the home/somewhere warm so you don't get frustrated with pairing as once paired, you should be paired for the day even if you turn off and on during the day. While on ski lifts, learn how to put them on mute by the press of a button or you'll get feedback next to each other. We don't ski without these the last few years with my kids. Game changer. Worth EVERY penny and I rarely write reviews.

Amazing for skiing with others
I have looked at these for two seasons now. I finally gave in and ordered two. One for myself and one for my husband. This made it SO much easier to talk to each other while skiing, and not needing to yell constantly. We both had wildhorn speakers before this, for music, and the headphones in this have been of equal quality. I especially liked being able to communicate easily, as we take 3 kids (8, 6, 6) skiing, so we can easily tell the other person if we are breaking off to go with a kid some where or letting the other person know that someone has fallen and we are stopping. It's definitely been worth the price!! We plan to get more next season, one for each of the kids so we can easily talk to them too. The battery doesn't last nearly as long as I would like. It has to be charged before each use. But it lasts all day long.

Very impressed
Just bought a "dual pack" for a recent ski trip. Bluetooth was never cutting off or noisy. The quality of the sound is impressive. In a clear line, I was connected with no issues for almost 3/4 of a mile (I did not test for longer distances). Very convenient to alert members of your group of other skiers passing by, especially savages. On the expensive side but worth every penny and will definitely expand with another pair. Buttons are big, easy to use even with mittens and are very intuitive and responsive. When you're close by, mute the mic to avoid delay/echo. With a minimum of 10 feet, the delay is not an issue. The mic is very good and completely blocking wind noise and most of the ski scraping sounds. Battery life was excellent, about 8+h despite listening to music all day long I cannot emphasize more the clarity of the sound. The added benefit to use this in other settings, such as hiking, kayaking, etc, should clinch the deal for those outdoor enthusiasts that might be on the fence due to price. Recommended without reservations.

Great especially when you have kids with you on the hill!
My husband and I are big skiers and starting this season have our two young children with us… so, decided to give these a try. They work pretty great and we are able to have conversations the whole way down the mountain, speaking at normal volume. Only thing is, I didn’t realize how much my husband grunts and burps when he skis… hahaha… will be great as we are out with the kids more!

Great!
So far, I’m loving these things. Being able to talk to people at a normal voice level while skiing is probably the best thing since sliced bread. The microphones work great, the audio is immaculate, and I love how you can customize your own audio mix in their app - as I was, at first, worried that my music would be too loud to hear the people I was talking to. Additionally, the setup and configuration was pretty easy and took like 10 minutes. There are two things to note with this, however. If you are skiing, you should probably turn off whatever noise canceling options there are in the audio settings, as it tends to block out the voice of the person you’re communicating with. Also, just note that the range is not very far at all, especially with trees present. So far, this has only been an issue once for me, but still worth noting for sure.

Excellent product, highly recommended
By far the best ski equipment I have ever bought. I purchased duo pack and we used them at day & night skiing. Talking hands free all the way, and having easy access to mute audio/mic controls are super convenient. My partner's helmet had pockets for the earpieces which made it super easy to install. My helmet didn't have the pockets, but the package comes with several types of female velcros (rounded, and H shaped), and I used super glue to stick velcros on each side of my helmet's inner to attach ear pieces. Both earpieces have made side of the velcro so it becomes very easy to attach them. Box also comes with several easy mount attachments. Great product! Bonus: Cardo sticker looked quite cool on the helmet :)
