can this be used on fiberglass showers with hard water and soap scum ?

I believe it is formulated for metal surfaces. What you want for showers with soap and mineral scum is something like “lime-away”

Does this ruin quartz counters?

I don’t use it on quartz or marble counters. I bought it for stainless steel pots mainly.

Is this any different than the same sized bottle that costs $2.39 at the grocery store?

Yes, exact same product that is at grocery store. You pay 3x the price for shipping it to you. It is about $3 locally for me right now.
