Joel Rothman's Basic Drumming, Revised and Expanded Edition

Purchased this book at the request of my drum instructor. I am a complete beginner, and so far it has been very helpful to me.

Purchased from the suggestion of instructor. Easy to follow and understand.

Progresses naturally. I have been working with an instructor who swears by this book. It's a great way to learn fundamentals of many styles of beats/music. Great way to learn limb independence.

This book contains a lot of exercises. Highly recommended for teachers and students!

I got this book for my dad but had to return it. I'm not saying this is a bad book, obviously it wouldn't have so much praise if it was. BUT, if you're someone who plays drums and has no educational understanding of them, you might not get much from this book.I imagine this book would work well for someone learning from an instructor. I taught my dad the basics of rhythm theory and how to read notes, and he personally got much more out of Stick Control than this one (plus for $20 cheaper).Again, all this isn't to say this book isn't worth it. I just recommend it be used with an instructor or by someone more advanced.

This book was highly recommended by my professor and I can see why. This book breaks drumming down barney style showing you how to play drums step by step, even if you have stupid hands and feet like me.

They sent me the revised edition, not the revised and expanded edition which is shown in the picture.The review is for the seller due to false advertising. The book itself is good, but I can't get full benefit from it since I am not learning from this book I am learning from the revised and expanded book.Be better.
