I love my remote. It works and is backlit like described.

This is how Sony should have made it
I bought this remote to replace the stock one that came with my Sony Bravia XR A80K. The stock remote had no backlight and it's incredibly hard to see the buttons or memorize where certain buttons are. This remote saved me in dark viewing conditions and the build quality feels way more premium than the stock remote. I have one issue though, the TV keeps popping up a message indicating that an software update is available for the remote but I am not able to complete the update. It fails after some progress. Not a big deal because the message doe not appear too often and disappears after some time.

Slim, elegant design
Love that it doesn't have all the extra buttons I have never used (colored squares, numbers - unnecessary since I only stream) . The Bluetooth is awesome. With the original infrared I had to exactly point at tv to work. Bluetooth takes away all that frustration. Pairs in 2 seconds and the size is similar to Amazon Fire remote. SO happy to put away the original ๐.

Not a real Sony remote
I probably wouldn't have paid the $50+ for this had I known it is not a legitimate OEM Sony remote. My tv keeps telling me the remote needs an update and it always fails because it's not from Sony.

Great remote IF all the buttons worked.
The back arrow does not work. Youโd be surprised how often you need to use that. Otherwise a great intervention over the cluttered remote that comes with the TV
