This is not a purple shampoo. It is more of a clarifying shampoo. It did remove some old light brown toner from my silver hair after the first use. After the second use, the yellow and brown colors are 90% gone. I'm happy and relieved to know I didnt permanently ruin my hair color. I've been growing out my natural hair for about 2 years. My mid to ends were light to medium yellow from heat damage and the old color from my blond days. Yellow hair from heat damage is a permanent condition and nothing can fix that. But this shampoo did remove enough old stuff that I see a big improvement. My hair is soft and shiny. After the shampoo treatment, I use a rich conditioner and a leave in conditioner. Here are some tips from my grow out journey. Use a rich leave in conditioner, I like Loma Calming Cream and a reliable heat protection product. I like Seen Blowout Cream and the Kenra spray. Oil your hair with a non yellow oil. Limit purple products bc they dull and dry out your hair. If you want a product to cover the yellow, use Oribe Silverati shampoo and conditioner. These are a light lilac color and add a touch of pale silver. Expensive, but worth it. Davines Heart of Glass purple conditioner is also great if you really need something purple. Gem Lights has nice silver and gray shampoo and conditioner. Follow silver sisters on YouTube and other social media for tips and support. If you have stubborn yellow, it might be heat damage from your hot tools. All tools need to be no hotter than 365 degrees. If your tools are old, it is probably time to get new, more modern tools with acurate heat settings. Also, toss out hair brushes with a metal barrel as they get too hot. Check your hair and skin products for yellowing ingredients and yellow dye. I've learned a lot in these 2 years painfully growing out my silvers. Hope this helps!

My hair is gray with a lot of white. Lately it was looking very dirty no matter what I used. I tried the “Yellow Out” and it was fantastic. My hair was Shiny, Bright and White. My gray was shiny, the white was white and my hair was soft. Yes I will purchase this again
