Unique interlocking joints and reinforced internal structure greatly increases the strength of the box and reduces the number of screws needed to assemble. Review: Assembly is Every Bit as Good as Advertised - Assembly went extremely well. The pieces are made to fit exactly perfectly if you tap them in with a rubber mallet. And banging away leaves no marks. The instructions are easy to understand; it might have been a little easier if they had marked the boards by the letters that correspond to the letters used to identify the pieces in the instructions. But with a little bit of lining things up, seeing which pieces matched which other pieces - it's quite easy to understand. There are only 3 pairs of boards, and worst case if you mis-match you can tap them out again with the mallet. I assembled the whole box, including the excellent internal support boards, and then screwed it snug. The screws are solid, the square-bit heads are perfect, the bit they provide is exactly right, and most of the time i could sink each screw on one go. Sometimes it took two, but that could just be the angle i was standing or kneeling at with those. Each board has 7 layers of plywood, there is no warpage of any kind, and the box is substantial. The handles openings are very helpful to move the box around. These are thoughtful folks; they include a tube of wood glue; i think it fits together just fine without the glue. Since i may be moving in a year or two and might need to disassemble and reassemble, i skipped the glue, but it's there if you want it. There's no doubt this is a solid box that will withstand some jumping and leaping exercises. It's heavy enough to hold up well over time, and light enough to move around a room. Review: Thoughtful, Quality, I'm Impressed! - I thought this is just a box. It's much more than that. It's just a plyo box, right? How hard can it be to fabricate it, ship it, include instructions and hardware, right? Well, BOUND just proved exactly how high you can go in thoughtfulness and quality of product - I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED. - First, the box comes in pieces (the smaller ones come with 6 flat pieces, I think that largest one comes with a 7th piece for support inside) - they are laid flat inside a cardboard box -- but the cardboard box is inside another cardboard box, just to make sure it doesn't get dinged or scratched when handled through the shipping companies - Then, the wooden pieces themselves are very accurately grooved/machined to fit snuggly and precisely with each other. Light taps from a rubber mallet push them in and they fit without a hitch. Not having a rubber mallet on hand, I just struck them repeatedly and gently with the palm of my hand (I don't recommend it though) -- they fit perfectly - They even include a full-size container of wood glue to hold the pieces together while you screw in the screws - but that was not even needed -- still, though, I'm impressed with them including the wood glue - Then, the instructions. They are printed clearly, with nice English that's also casual and fun to read - Lastly, the hardware. Oh my god, I have **never** seen wood screws like these. They are SUCH HIGH QUALITY, so easy to screw in, and fit perfectly. BOUND EVEN INCLUDED SPECIALIZED BIT FOR YOUR SCREW DRIVER (WHAT MANUFACTURER DOES THAT?! AWESOME!!!) - To put the icing on the cake, they even included **four extra screws** just in case! Seriously, I have never seen an assembly-required product of higher quality or thoughtfulness --- thank you BOUND! P.S. I accidentally ordered the smallest box but wanted the biggest one, I am proceeding to buy the biggest one immediately from BOUND.

Great box. Canโt beat the price!!!
I had to write a review after getting my box. Iโve ordered other plyo boxes before and this one stands out for quality, instruction, and ease of assembly (with a drill). I own a fitness studio and have gone through many pieces of equipment. This box came with extra good quality screws and even a good quality drill bit! The drill holes have a rivet dip in them so the screw head sits deeper than the box. This feature is great because my other boxes scratch up my floors because the screw heads sits up higher than the box. You can tell they really put thought into the product. In a time when companies try and charge crazy amounts because of a fitness craze (ie: CrossFit) Iโm glad to see a company charge less and really give you high quality. I know this eats into their profits, but I will never buy a box from another company. I will also recommend this company to others. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

Easy to assemble and properly manufactured
My (16/20/24) plyo box was well-cut and properly pre-drilled. The screws were ~2" long and extras were provided, along with the appropriate drill bit. I assembled it, using the very nice instruction sheet, using only a small ratcheting screwdriver (pictured) and my physical weight, to press pieces flush. I'm an average size woman, and not a woodshop master, but it couldn't have taken me more than 30 minutes, which was mostly b/c I was too lazy to find my drill. I found it easiest to start by connecting the puzzle pieces of the sides flat against the ground, using my knees to press them together, and leaving sufficient wiggle room that I could hinge them upright after they were already connected, then use my body weight to press them flush. Otherwise you'd need a rubber mallet (which I was also too careless to find.) This plyo box does not have internal braces, as some do, but it is plenty strong. I did some research on the topic and determined that reinforcement was probably a bit overkill. This thing would be very hard to break indeed. I did not receive a tube of glue in my package, as another reviewer mentioned, which is fine, as it is not mentioned in the product specs, but it would've been cool to be mentioned (as optional) in the instructions, as I would've glued mine if I had thought of it. Like I said, I'm not an experienced builder.

Great product
This is a great box! If you follow the directions it takes about 15 minutes to assemble. Very easy to assemble. It is very sturdy box and I like that you can stain or paint it if you so choose to (I wouldn't paint it as it might make it slippery but one could if they wanted to). It has a nice wood grain too it and doesn't feel like "cheap" wood at all. I have used it many times now during my workouts and it doesn't budge or flex at all. Nice and sturdy. I'm 5'7" - 155 lbs. My husband is 6' - 190 lbs and it doesn't budge or flex when either of us jump on it. I like how no matter how you turn or flip the box it is just as sturdy. I purchased the taller sizes, however, I would recommend the short ones for those who are just starting out.

Will be fine for 12" and 14"' box jumps but not 16" - too little
My review is for the 12/14/16 box. Please keep that in mind - the bigger boxes will probably not have the same concerns. At first I was shocked at how little the box turned out. Then I started thinking about it more and of course it will be that little for a 12/14/16 box. Sorry if this is too long but I wanted to provide details that would have been helpful to me when considering this box. I wanted a box that could help me babystep into bigger heights for Crossfit box jumps. They only have 18" or 20" boxes for the shorter heights for box jumps. This lady isn't near any of those heights. So I wanted something at home for me to practice and get my confidence up. The 12" side is just fine at this point. Plenty of room for my feet (size 8.5 women). 14" has a smaller landing space and 16" landing space scares the heck out of me. I will need to buy another box after I master the 14". No way will I use the 16" side unless it is for step ups. Too much room for error to hit a corner and fall. See photos with size 8.5 women's running shoes so you can see how big the landing pad (is and isn't). Assembly took me 1/2 hour to do... you will need: rubber mallet, power drill, sand paper, hammer AND a funny drill bit that is in a square configuration. I have never seen that type of bolt head before - with a square (see photos). Luckily in my tool box for drill bits there was ONE funny square bit. There is no way you can use a flat head or Phillips head bit to make this work. There were FOUR extra screws left over (is that supposed to be?) and I didn't use the included wood glue (it was too hard to put the pieces together AND use the glue). There were no directions in the box but the supplier did email me a pdf before the box arrived. You have to have a rubber mallet to put this together. No way will it fit together without it. I followed the directions but did end up putting two of the sides with handles upside down. It is together at this point and I am not going to change it. With the rubber mallet it will go together fairly well but if you use the included glue - be aware that glue will probably fly all over the place from the pounding. Be careful not to hit the side of one of the insert pieces or you will smash it up (see photo). There are a lot of screws on the box so make sure your drill battery is charged up. I did have issues with five bolts not drilling all the way down - maybe because of a knot? The bad thing about the square bolt head configuration is that you cannot back out the screw if it doesn't go all the way down. I tried with pliers to pull them out with no luck. A hammer afterwards fixed the issue. I did lightly sand the box corners and handles before using. Overall, I do like this box for my intended purpose: help this forty something lady get more confidence in box jumps so I can join the big kids at Crossfit. However, I will need to buy a bigger box eventually to hit the 16" height - as I do not think it will be good for box jumps. I am 5'5", 120 lbs and size 8.5 shoe. If you have bigger feet than that you might need a different size box to fit them. Price was fine, shipping was quick, and nice customer service emails from supplier. Photos - have a one gallon bucket of paint next to it for scale perspective. Like I said - its a small box!

This is a company that cares about quality. Awesome.
It is so nice to buy something from a company/manufacturer that cares about quality. I could have made the boxes myself but I don't have the time and didn't want the hassle. Wow, the attention to detail that Bound put into their product is refreshing. It made me sit back in admiration and appreciation. These boxes are cut and assembled from plywood. The cuts are precise so that each piece fits together snugly and exactly. With plywood there are grades of quality, commonly, youโll come across A/B or A/C. This means that one side of the plywood is Grade A and the other is Grade B or C. Care was taken to be sure the higher rated side would face out and the lower rated side would be hidden facing in on the finished box. Counter sunk holes were predrilled with pilot holes for the screws. All I had to do was assemble the pieces. Again, was a joy opening and putting together this plyo-box. Thank you Bound!

16/20/24 box - Easily supports jumps from 225lb man
Debated between the 16/24 and the 24/30 boxes, and after some discussion with the seller went with the smaller 16/20/24 box at his recommendation. Shipment was prompt, assembly was straight forward as described - took about 20 or 30 minutes, but I was triple checking everything as I put it together. Box is solid as expected from a Made in USA product - I'm about 225 lbs and 6 feet tall, and all 3 heights felt solid while landing the jump. There is a little wobble on the 20 inch side which I may try to sand down, but it is very minor (the type that you would get a small felt pad for if it were a chair), and when you are landing these jumps you don't even notice it. I also use the box for elevated pike push ups (modified versions of handstand pushups), and just piled on a few bumper plates to get the height up closer to 30 inches where I wanted it. No problems here either. Response to questions from the seller were all prompt and professional - he stands by his products. Would recommend
