It’s what they wanted for their birthdays and they were so looking forward to seeing the whole hatching process etc. The 1st hatchimal took a while to hatch (we rubbed it for like 15 mins) but it did hatch in the end and was a thrilling experience for my daughter. Then the 2nd one for my other daughter we rubbed it for almost 30 mins and nothing was happening. It also wasn’t ‘pecking back’ like the 1st one did and wasn’t spinning inside the egg. But we rubbed it for ages as we weren’t sure as the 1st one took so long to hatch too. Finally we decided it was malfunctioning and we cut the egg open ourselves. And yes after cutting it open we saw the spinning wheel that attaches to the head of the animal was loose inside the egg hence why it wasn’t spinning/breaking out. My daughter was sooo disappointed that hers didn’t ‘hatch’ but her sisters did. Really - we get these expensive toys for a special occasion but what a rip off. For this price you expect it to be in perfect working order. Not only that but then I had to deal with a disappointed kid on her birthday on top of it all. What a joke.
