Mapp gas is a lot hotter
If unsure of your needs get the propane. I melt small batches of silver in shot, and this is perfect. Would work great for brazing or heavy soldering jobs, but would be easy to burn thru on copper pipe and the like. Just be careful in the jobs you go after with it.

Threads strip out easily
I like the control knob.But I didn't like about it. It's a thread stripped easily and how would I rate it three stars

Defective
Just arrived. On a full tank of MAPP gas, it lit 5 times, then stopped. A brass part fell out of the nozzle. It was a worthless piece of equipment. Very disappointing.
