If anyone ever told you you needed a screw this is the one for your pool light. It's brass so it won't rust. Perfect size, fits most pool builders and even comes with a washer

I had to replace a 24 year old blown incandescent bulb in my pool. When I removed the pilot screw it was in dreadful shape. It was covered in some sort of corrosion suggesting that it was something other than stainless steel...galvanized perhaps. I knew I needed to change it and this brass OEM version showed up so for me, it was a no brainer. I'm no electrician but I feel that having this clean, new, brass screw through the frame of the lamp into the niche in the pool has some required grounding or bonding implications that I am not willing to skimp on. My pool's deep end where the light is has no decking. It is landscaped with cactus right up to the curb so there was no way I could lie down in that mess and reach in to the pool to do this job. It had to be done in the water and having the included rubber captive washer to keep the screw in place while maneuvering things around was a great help. This is a simple, easy to install, peace-of-mind item that you really shouldn't pass on. Enjoy!

Just a screw but an important one

When I removed the spa light, I discovered that the head was stripped. It was difficult to remove the screw. I replaced it with one I had laying around that had the same threads, but wasn't brass or stainless. Within days I had rust running down from screw, and within a couple of weeks, the screw had completely dissolved. I bought this screw to replace it, and it continues to hold without degrading. Live and learn. Buy this screw.

What we needed for pool light

I paid a lot more than a screw like this should cost, but I paid extra for that little washer. The washer that comes with the screw is taken off, and then re-applied after the screw is placed in the housing. The purpose of the washer is to prevent the screw from sliding out and falling into the pool while you struggle to put the light in the niche. A tiny o-ring would work just as well, but I was unable to find any that small. Bottom line, this screw probably costs $5 more than it should, but its worth the extra $5 to avoid the headache of fishing the screw out from the bottom of the deep end. Note: I used a less expensive screw without the washer when I did the light on the shallow end of the pool. Not worth an extra $5 just to avoid bending over.

This screw is absolutely unbelievably good. It worked better than expected and was brilliant at screwing this to that. And it’s still holding them together. Wow! I didn’t know a screw could be this good. Get one!

Two worked fine and a direct replacement, but really expensive for a screw. Also, one of the screws snapped in half while tightening it. Fragile.
