Will this pet gate deter my two lively cats from leaping over?

I've installed this extra tall pet gate at my garage entrance. My Ragdoll cat frequently attempts to jump over, but so far, there haven't been any successful escapes.

Can my two-year-old open this baby gate?

This retractable baby gate is 42 inches tall, and their height probably isn't enough to reach the locking mechanism and open the gate.

Is this baby gate sturdy? Can it withstand a 1-year-old shaking it?

This baby gate is really sturdy. My son has been trying to shake it and even attempting to push it, but he hasn't succeeded at all.

Can this gate be used outdoors? Will it rust if it rains?

I've been using it outdoors for a while, and it's still working fine even in the sun or rain.
