Philips Epilator Series 8000, 3-in-1, BRE720/14

I was honestly a little scared to try an epilator for the first time. I had always shaved, but I was getting tired of how quickly the hair would grow back sometimes in just a day or two. I wanted something that was better for my skin and would last longer, so after seeing a lot of positive reviews about the Philips Epilator Series 8000, I decided to go for it. At first, it was a little painful, especially on more sensitive areas like the underarms. But I had already read that it would get easier, and it’s true after a few passes, I got used to it. The device is easy to handle, and I love that it comes with different attachments, which made the whole experience more comfortable. I used it on my underarms and legs, and I was genuinely shocked at how smooth my skin felt afterward. It’s been several days and there’s still no hair, which is something I’ve never experienced with shaving. I also didn’t get the usual irritation or razor bumps, which is a big win for me. Only reviewing because it’s obvious a lot of the reviews are incentivized and this one is not! This device is life changing. I use it everywhere (yes, there. ALL of it). It was scary at first but once you get through that first time, it becomes so much easier to maintain. It’s actually more scary than it is painful if you really think about it, so just prepare mentally for it. I’m a weenie and I was able to do it with some self motivation lol. I am saving so much money and time that would have been spent on brazilian waxes. And while it’s not a pleasant feeling, it is significantly less painful than waxing because it’s not all at once. And I have zero ingrown hairs. You also don’t have to wait for all of the hair to come back, so it becomes MUCH easier after the initial session. I use it maybe once a week and the new hairs are more delicate and sparse so it’s super easy and quick. I definitely recommend doing it in the shower because it is less painful. I don’t find that it’s less effective that way as some reviews imply. I’m now doing my underarms too. I will never pay for a wax again! Just hold that skin taught, take a deep breath, and go for it!

Works great. Be very careful around your labia. It is easy to have it pinch the skin. And yes, it does hurt when it pulls out the hair. Similar to tweezing.

Love this! First few times is painful for the epilator, but it is very satisfying and long lasting results.

Yo la vi por tiktok, llevo usándola 3 meses y de verdad fue una compra muy buena. El depilado si duele pero vale totalmente la pena, además me gusta el accesorio para la zona íntima: es como una rasuradora que deja el vello muy cortito pero sin depilarlo por completo, lo cual es ideal y muy cómodo para pieles sensibles en esa zona. Super recomendada!

I really enjoy the epilater! It was painful for the first few passes, but then you get used to it until you go to the other leg. It does a good job on not smashing the skin or getting stuck. I have not tried it on my bikini area or underarms yet! Have not been brave enough. The battery has lasted long enough to almost get through two separate uses without recharging. I try to use it once every two weeks, until the hair gets lighter and lighter. I expect to use the epilator once a month or longer after i have used it a few times. You do have to go a little slower in order to get the most hair. If you go too fast, it just makes more passes needed. Definitely worth it!

I bought this to replace my old epilator of a different brand. This Philips epilator is disappointing. Compared to my older epilator, you have to do more than one pass to get much hair off. Even with multiple passings, it couldn't remove all the hair. The curved design of the epilator head didnt help. I had to revert to wax strips to remove all the hair left behind. Because of multiple passes, it kinda irritated my skin. I still give it 3 stars because the motor is quality. The shaver is great.

KP friendly Okay, so first off, I’m super frugal and rarely splurge on stuff like this. I have KP and regular razors irritate my skin. My last electric razors was just something cheap, cheapest I could find with good ratings, but I lost the charger. My bf has been in the dog house so he told my to buy a super fancy, “expensive” electric razor. ANYWAY. I was just looking for something “fancy and expensive,” great ratings being the most important. I was going to get just the plain shaver, but Mr. Doghouse insisted I get this one. Charged it, didn’t read anything about what a epilator was. I used the head it came with on, which was the epilator. Ouch. At first I was like okay, this is weird. As I kept going - the pain wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t expecting it at first. The manual is a giant sheet that folds into a huge paper, so I wasn’t really feeling looking more into it. But it’s just a slight tug like tweezing (I now realize that’s basically what it does.) It took a while and I’m probably going to have to work on it a few more times to make sure I got everything. It took longer than shaving, maybe like 15 minutes to get all that I could see. All I can say is WOW. It has been about 30 minutes and the slight extra redness it added on my KP has cleared up. (I’ll also add that I use Briotech topical spray after shaving for my KP just so my skin isn’t as irritated and painful.) The bumps I normally have are also way less inflamed from using this shaver. It’s like it yanked out my ingrown hairs and now my usual bumps are less raised and even skin toned! I can’t wait to see how it looks after regular use because my legs are already starting to look like regular people’s legs. Very unexpected! I’d definitely recommend for those with KP, just remember, there is a small tug for each hair that you get used to. I gave up on my KP LONG ago, so this was just a super great coincidence. I’d almost say this shaver is life-changing for me because my legs/skin has been a life-long insecurity for me. Mission accomplished, guy now bought himself a ticket out of the dog house for now.

Does the job pretty good. However it is very slow so took about an hour to do just my legs and I had to recharge after doing just one leg. I also found that using it resulted in alot of ingrown hairs which is something Ive never had an issue with when shaving. In terms of pain its not too bad on the legs, for the underarms its tolerable if you have a high pain tolerance. The shaver head is useful for areas that are too sensitive for the epilator. So overall its fairly good but probably not worth the money. Even though I can shave less using it, its honestly such a hassle to use that Id rather just shave every couple of days.
