Marion Hair Color Shampoo in Sachet Lasting 4 to 8 Washes Aloe and Keratin - 98 Burgundy

I wanted to wait a while before reviewing to make sure there’s longevity of the colour and if it’s truly suitable on Afro textures or if it was better suited to straight/European hair as shown on the packaging. Anyone with experience or knowledge on genuine type 3C to 4C Afro hair textures will know it doesn’t need a 15 step cgm routine with layers upon layers of products and scrunching, plopping, flipping and diffusing just for the ‘curls’ to fall and the hair to revert back to being straight within 24 hours. Afro hair will maintain its natural curl as long as the hairs in good health and isn’t over processed or manipulated and my curls/coils haven’t changed with this compared to using a box dye that loosened up my curl pattern and needed protein treatments to restore it or adore that left my hair crunchy and dry. This Marion shampoo colour feels just like a conditioning agent on my hair, when applied to my damp hair it curls up as if I’d put a conditioner in, I was surprised yet very delighted at this effect considering that the packaging makes no reference to Afro hair as the packaging shows a woman with straight hair. This is officially my new holy grail, it’s a quarter of the price I was paying for my last semi permanent colour that made my hair so dry and stiff, it lasts ten times longer, doesn’t transfer onto fabrics, better value for money and the quality is absolutely superb and the best I’ve used and I’ve been dying my hair since 2009! These colours come out even and don’t have green undertones or stain it like henna dyes and it’s not chemically processing my hair with every application so saves me from damaging my curls/coils! I wish I’d found this product years ago but I’m delighted to have found it now! It’s very difficult to find good quality products that are both affordable and effective on Afro hair as they just aren’t moisturising or thick enough in consistency to coat the curls/coils and Afro targeted products and brands are changing ingredients to suit loose non-Afro hair textures whilst the prices skyrocket going up to ten times more than the cost of one Marion packet, so it’s VERY challenging to find that holy grail when you have a certain hair type but this Marion dye is extremely effective at depositing an even beautiful colour. It has a decent amount of slip to it to easily work through the strands and coat them adequately. Since Afro hair has fewer cuticle layers along strands that protect and seal the cortex of the hair, it can be very prone to damage from even minor hair treatments, the fewer cuticles are great for absorbing water/moisture/colours into the cortex but this leaves the strands open so moisture and colour soaks in wonderfully but exits the hair strands just as easily as it’s absorbed which makes it hard to maintain coloured hair but this product gets the job done and LASTS, it’s not like some dyes that’s very intense either bright or dark at first and you have to let it fade or shampoo lots to look tone it down, Marion dye looks settled from the first application and maintains the look, even with sulphate shampoo and heat styling my hair! It’s hardly faded and I only left the product in for 25-30 minutes compared to the recommended 45 minutes. I’ve recommended this to all my friends and family that colour their hair and I don’t ever plan on switching to another colour brand now I’ve found that holy grail that’s super affordable and the quality is unmatched and for such a low price with one packet being enough to coat my bra strap length curly hair that’s a super bargain!

Very strong colour. I have strawberry blonde hair that needed a boost. I only use half a sachet on my short hair and leave it on for just a minute. Gives me the result I want.

Beware of this product!!! I have medium blonde hair, a bit of bleach from about 5 years ago at the end and natural at the top, I got this thinking I could have a wee change and then wash it out in a few weeks. It has been 2 and a half months at at least 2 washes a week and 2 boxes of colour remover and my hair is faded but still ginger! My roots are starting to come in and I am going to have to bleach it which will cost me a fortune. 4-8 washes is not accurate, this product is not accurately described. I'm honestly really upset because my hair was a lovely colour I just wanted a temporary change, and my hair is waist length so if I chopped it off I would lose yesrs and years of growth. It's not worth the risk, don't do it.

Recently had cancer treatment and hair is very fine but still have some !! I have grey growing in at my temples which I felt need coloured as rest of hair still got a good natural colour. Didn’t want anything harsh or permanent just in case went wrong ! Used this shampoo only in the under growth at temples and it worked great . Used fine gloves and a fine dye brush to paint it on . Only used tiny amount in the restricted area , left for 20 mins and washed out and used a bit of colour conditioner once washed it out . Blended in great ( medium brown ) looks natural and no orange tinge which I was afraid off. I have had no reaction or skin staining . If you looking for a bit of colour with no commitment this is great . I have sealed up the sachet ,air tight ,so could use again in a few weeks. So in summary good natural colour for light auburn hair , did cover my greys. Hair left fresh looking and shiny.

I was so happy with it as it was the easiest way to dye my hair and less damaging for a very good price. I faced reality when I tried to strip my colour to go lighter, and I found out that colour remover doesn't work for this semi-permanent dye. Now, I have difficulty going to the blond

I'm a retired hairdresser and have always used a permanent hair colour on my hair. I've been looking for a semi-permanent and decided to give this one a go. I am amazed at the coverage and depth of colour this product has produced. I have alot of grey hair and it has covered with no problems. I washed my hair with a mild baby shampoo and dryed it before applying the colour and left it on for 45 mins. I have just washed my hair for the fourth time. See photo attached. I brought three of these packs thinking it wouldn't last and have only used one so far and can tell it won't need another for a few more washes. I haven't had to apply a conditioner since using and my hair has a good shine and i have had several compliments. I highly recommend this product.

I had been growing my grey hair out, but my hair wouldnt fully go grey. One day I looked at my hair and thought, I NEED a change. So I did some research, I hate box dyes as I couldn't do them well, so I found some ideas on colouring conditioner. Some like polar are expensive and I just wanted to try it. So I came across this... And was pleasantly surprised on the results. On my natural brown hair, it boosted the colour. On the grey not a brown but very dark blonde/,mid brownish. All in all I give it a nice 8/10 Please note when I used my own gloves (small hands) the dye turned my gloves a orange colour.

Nice colored shampoo, on my hair a little bit darker that on the picture. Depends on your natural color. The hair becaming shiny and nice looking, lightly covering the gray hair (the same color but a little bit more light). Getting washed away with time. Good experience, I like it very much. Can't dye the hair with traditional hair color, so for it's ideal solution
