A smooth, clean alternative to traditional energy drinks
For reference, I am 27yo Male with prior Military service. I decided to try these because I no longer enjoy taking large doses of caffeine. When I was younger, caffeine gave me a lot of energy, but now it just makes me anxious. I also don’t like sugary drinks, so I was drawn to these since they have little to no sugar and use a different stimulant than traditional caffeine. The first thing I noticed was the flavor. If you enjoy sugar-free Red Bull or other low/no-sugar energy drinks, you’ll probably like these. But what really stood out to me was how quickly the energy kicked in—it reminded me of when I first started drinking caffeinated drinks. I took my first one around 9:30 AM with a friend so we could compare how it made us feel. About 30 minutes later, we both started noticing the effects, and they were pretty strong. We went for a quick hike, and neither of us felt overstimulated—it was a clean, smooth energy boost. By around 3:30 PM, we got back home and were able to take a nap, which was surprising given how effective the drink was earlier. I’d recommend these to anyone who still enjoys the benefits of caffeine but, as they’ve gotten older, doesn’t like how traditional caffeine affects them. It’s a refreshing alternative to standard energy drinks.

Tastes bad and affected my sleep :-(
I did not like this for multiple reasons. First, it tastes terrible. It is WAY too sweet and fake tasting. Second, I did not feel much of an energy boost from it during the day. Finally, it affected my sleep negatively at night. I felt completely wired when it was time to fall asleep at 9 pm even though I drank this at 7 or 8 am. I tried it for 4 days to give it a chance (and make sure the effects were consistent) and then I stopped drinking it.

JITTER FREE DRINKS!
I recently tried the Drink Update Energy Drink with Paraxanthine, and I can confidently say it’s a game changer! As someone who loves energy drinks but often feels the jitters and crashes that come with caffeine and sugar, this product is a breath of fresh air. First off, the taste is fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of flavors in the 12-pack—each one is delicious and refreshing. They manage to be energizing without any of the overpowering sweetness that often comes with other drinks. What I appreciate most is the jitter-free, crash-free experience. I can enjoy an energy boost without worrying about the overstimulation or withdrawal effects that usually follow a typical energy drink. It’s perfect for my busy days when I need a reliable pick-me-up. Knowing it’s caffeine and sugar-free gives me peace of mind, allowing me to stay energized without the negative side effects. This has truly become my go-to for an afternoon boost! I highly recommend Drink Update Energy Drink to anyone looking for a clean, effective energy solution. It’s a stellar product that delivers on its promises!

Love it but…
I am now a monthly subscriber receiving three cases of this product. First note: This is not the best tasting energy drink product I have ever had, but it is the only one that is still on the market which I never have had an energy crash from. That statement I made is significant, for I have had many different kinds of energy drinks including all the mainstream ones, the ones sold at many truck stops and gas station, to ones from network marketing companies and others that I found through Google search or social media; I have not tried them all but I have sued many as someone who consumes a energy drink or two or three every day (despite the warning labels). As far as flavor: - the mandarin and peach are decent and drinkable. Not bad and borderline enjoyable in flavor. I get a case of each of these on subscribe and save every month. - the lime is not bad. Not quite as good but almost as good as the before mentioned two. My kids describe it as an almost bad tasting sprite, which isn’t bad for an energy drink. I also get a case of this every month. - the berry flavor is the stuff of nightmares. It is so terrible tasting I do not know how they let it get to market (of this my wife and kids agree). Really needs a reformulation or something as it is just abysmal and horrid. I used to just get variety cases but could not handle this one any more. If you chug it cold, it is at best tolerable, but not enjoyable. Every gulp puts a grimace of pain on my face that sends children into wild fits of laughter at the hilarity of the suffering my tastebuds endure to get the benefit from the can I spent money on. Summary: get this product. It works even for those who think energy drinks do not work for them. And all the flavors besides berry are drinkable. If you want to try them all out, grab a variety pack and perhaps my description of berry will set a bar so low in your mind you’ll leave feeling it wasn’t quite so bad once you tried it.

Amazing Potential, but still falls short.
Completely transparent review: So I'm a fairly aware and sensitive person when it comes to supplements and caffeine. Really into nootropics, cognitive perfomance, etc. I'm sure most people that stumble across this product will fall into 1/2 categories. 1) You are also like me and like trying out novel/new nootropics to get an edge or optimize for some portion of your life. 2) You just want to try out a new energy drink, maybe because you're sensitive to caffeine, etc. For taste, I'm sorry, maybe I'm used to more sweet energy drinks now that I've transitioned exclusively over to Sugar-Free energy drinks, but this is not it. They need to go back to the drawing board and re-vise these flavors. I get they may want to attract a certain audience by only using "Natural" sweeteners like Monk Fruit, Steviol/Stevia, but it sure tastes like they only used that. Throw in some artificial sweetener like sucralose if thats what they need to do -- its not gonna kill people lol. The best one so far is Peach, but thats still a solid 6/10 for me. The rest are flops 4/10 at best. I feel like i'm forcing myself to drink these to get the effect I want. For effects, it does what it touts to do. I do wish they gave dosages for the other nootropics like L-Theanine and Alpha-GPC BESIDES just the Paraxanthine dose (300mg serving per can (12 fl. oz) and it says do NOT exceed more than that dose per day. I've drank 200mg caff + 300mg px and been just fine though.) It definitely feels smoother than traditional caffeine -- like caffeine gives you that kind of "aggressive" push which makes you jittery, but this just makes you feel more awake/alert I've noticed, a much weaker push that is still there. The sensation is similar but toned down to traditional energy drinks. If you've never been able to tolerate traditional energy drinks because the caffeine gets you on edge, etc, give this a shot if you've got money to spend. Could be worthwhile. I'm sorry but these cost way too much for what they are. I get its some novel, patented nootropic they're using, but no reason these can't be a little bit cheaper. And I'm not sure if its the same way on their official site, but on Amazon, ordering the variety pack too 2 weeks to get to me from the order date. I can't in good faith endorse these yet until they at least address the flavor systems of these drinks. I'll probably buy a pack and let them sit in my fridge for a rainy day when I need the energy a little closer to bed time, but until then, not sold on these. I'd rather recommend something like Gorilla Mind Energy if you're looking for something that is better value, tastes better, and has even more cognitive enhancing nootropics. The caffeine in there is balanced out by L-theanine with exact dosages and isn't as aggressive as other energy drinks I've noticed. Overall, 6/10.

It tastes like accidentally being electrocuted, but...
It provides a very, very clean energy. After dealing with some nervous system damage I can't drink caffeine like I used to. It doesn't just give me jitters anymore, but twitching muscles in my arms, legs, and eyelids. Caffeine also makes me very easily irritated, which is not like me. It occasionally gives me chest pain, which is ultra sketch. And the crash is pretty awful. I get none of that with this paraxanthine drink. Yet, the energy is definitely there, more noticeable than caffeine. The only issue is the flavor. They really should have tried one of these drinks before finalizing the recipe. One sip would do. It's like the energy drink equivalent of vegemite. Wouldn't hate to see a non sugar-free version maybe? Honestly, the flavor isn't my favorite, but it does make me sip on it rather than pound it in two minutes. And I don't care if it tastes like meth cooked in a witch's cauldron, I'd still drink it, because it works.

The taste is a dealbreaker
I wanted to like this. I hate writing negative reviews but with the price of this product being so high I feel like it's warranted to help others decide if this is right for them. I have enjoyed energy drinks too much for too long and recently I decided i wanted to try something else. I was ideally looking for a drink that would give me the sensory experience of an energy drink (carbonated, flavored, no sugar) without the 200mg of caffiene that usually accompanies Monsters or Redbull. This at least on the surface appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. The price tag made me a little queasy but when it went on sale I decided to take the plunge. I was so disappointed with the flavor of these drinks, they are pretty awful. Like, let everyone I know try it and nearly everyone was wretching like I'd given them a shot. Of all the flavors, Berry was by far the best. I rarely leave my energy drink cans unfinished, but with these I was struggling to even drink half. It tastes like a White Claw if you mixed it with drain cleaner. This stuff hits your stomach like a rock, it sometimes feels like someones dropped a beaker of some chemical concoction directly into your large intestine. Do I feel energized by it? Sure, but I don't know if it's due to the ingredients or the fact that this drink tastes so unpleasant it wakes you up. I feel horrible having such a negative review but i feel like I spent far more than I'm usually would to support a company who's specifically making a product to fulfill my niche market, I just wish it was tolerable. I am going to finish the case because I'm not a quitter.

Best Energy Drink I've Tried!
Update is the best energy drink I’ve ever tried. The formula is a game-changer, no jitters, no crash, just energy that keeps me going for hours. I love how I feel after drinking it, whether I’m working at the office or working out. It’s also sugar-free, which is a huge selling point for me as I am trying to cut back on sugar. The natural sweeteners give it a great taste without any nasty artificial aftertaste. The flavors are unique and delicious, with just the right amount of carbonation that doesn't leave you bloated after. If you’re looking for an energy drink that actually delivers on its promises, Update is the one to try. Highly recommended!
