I purchased this with the thought of using it to reduce stress and fall asleep by listening to a measured, constant rhythmic sound. Unfortunately the sound is much to loud for that application. I realize it wasn’t designed for that use. I took a shot. However. It pleasing to see the mechanism within the transparent body, the spring seems sturdy due to the tension felt while winding it. I used one setting and it appeared to keep a constant time. I gave five stars because of what I noted of its appearance and limited performance test/sampling. I am not a musician so I cannot speak to its performance while trying to keep time while playing a musical piece. Still, like its appearance.

I am not a musician. I bought this just because I love mechanisms. This one with its see-through frame seemed to be designed with me in mind. You can see for yourself how the selector works for how many ticks happen before the bell rings. The bell is not super-loud, but the ticks are quite audible.

Looks great functions great but I have a hard time hearing the bell for the beat

The metronome came securely packaged. It has easy-to-understand instructions and the operation is very simple; students of all levels should have no issues setting this metronome up. This product works as described. In the box is a cleaning cloth for the surface of the metronome. The gears are visible through the clear casing. I like this feature. Overall, this is a great product.

First one was broke inside the box, second one does change beats… looks good though

I like this metronome so much better than beeps. At least in my life “beeps” usually signify I need to do some thing. So beeps just aggravate me.

It wins on looks and design.. very lovely to look at and see the clockwork pendulum mechanism. But I was very disappointed in the sound quality of the accent bell 🛎️. It is BARELY audible! Very difficult to hear just listening to the metronome by itself. Impossible to hear while playing an instrument over the top of it. ESPECIALLY a piano!!! (After all, A struck piano string(s) has an envelope that shares bell like characteristics!) A different and louder click tone for accent ( or measure beat one). Would have been a better choice.

This is a functional metronome and its unique clear appearance is a conversation topic!

Sadly the metronome arrived broken in 3 pieces and unusable
