Aluma-Tow 6" Drop for 2" Receivers

After I orderd the hitch, I wa worried that the locking pin would not be long enough for my F-350, which has a 3" hitch receiver. The pin fits the big hitch perfectly! Keep in mind that the Aluma-Tow hitch is for a 2" receiver, so you will need a 3" to 2.5" sleeve and a 2.5" to 2" sleeve and the hitch is limited to 12,500 lbs. The hitch is very nicely made and very good looking. Changing to a different ball or to a different height takes seconds. It will work great towing different trailers, but I will have to watch the weight on heavier loads. I don't think the locking mechanisms (or any locking mechanism for that matter) would stand up very well to our northern NY State winters, so it will be put away in the fall and take a winter vacation. I am very happy with the hitch!

Great quality and has lasted with almost daily use.

Using the hitch, my daughter got hit from behind while towing a 7,500 lb boat. The car that hit her never stopped at a cross walk and apparently hit her at full speed while she was stopped for pedestrians. > The Equinox that hit her was surely totaled. Grill, hood, windshield, and air bags which fired were all destroyed. > The boat and trailer are seriously damaged, but we don't completely understand all of the details yet. > Because my 2020 2500HD GMC wasn't physically touched all looked well > Turns out the energy rom the impact got transfered thru the trailer hitch. Amazingly: a. The hitch is fine b. One of the hitch pins bent which the manufacturer replace for free c. The impact was such that the truck hitch was bent down and the brackets to the rear bumper were bent (down) > Pretty awesome product to have taken that beating and transfered all that energy thru the hitch without damaging it! Great Item. Make sure you understand if you're ordering one with the plastic storage box or not. I ordered one that didn't have it, but again working with the manufacturer (Uriah) was able to buy one seperately

Purchased October 23rd 2020. There was a lot of thought put into this. However I expected tighter tolerances to reduce slop and increase strength. Quick change balls are great but I did expect it to be less wobbly. I've put a hitch stiffener on every hitch I have owned and it is worth the 25 dollars they cost. You will need one for this hitch. Overall should be fine but three stars for slop. Update: I've towed with this a decent amount, not really pushing the limits I'd say 6000 pounds at the most. I dont experience any undulations unloaded or loaded but keep in mind I always run a hitch stiffener. Ive used it to pull stumps with my truck, no issues there, I am noticing a little bit of fatigue in some areas of the hitch ball assembly but nothing major. The pins for the hitch balls are pretty rusty and the locks that came with it are not the best but not the worst, seal caps are pretty much shot. Update October 3rd 2024. I have used this hitch for nearly 4 years now. It has been used on 2 vehicles. Heaviest load it has experienced is 9500lbs. You can feel the slop in your seat when you get on the brakes or take off loaded or unloaded. It's a pretty good hitch but I wish it was steel. I feel like steel wouldn't deform as much as aluminum. I'm going to keep using it for oddball moments. I'd rather have a hitch without the adjustability as all my trailers are 2" drop or adjustable tongue compared to my truck now.

Very satisfied!!! I bought this drop hitch for my lifted 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Don’t judge based on old reviews before 2020... They must have updated the design because it is very well built, super clean machined aluminum, and very sturdy now.. I really like that it came with 3 balls 2 keyed locking pins to lock the slide together and the hitch to receiver. A third pin is there for extra stability. I actually bought this and one for $250 which came without the pinned locks, I returned the other not just based on price but I felt this aluminum quality was actually better... I would recommend also purchasing the rubber vibration squares as it snugs up the fit at the trucks receiver. I didn’t hear any movement or anything and it’s not the fault of the hitch.. maybe it’s just my Tundra 2”receiver but the square rubber rings were a nice cheap add in my case and opinion...

This is a very nice hitch that comes with all three common sizes. Very heavy duty but also light weight. Easy to adjust as well

I chose this one because it offered the most versatility out of all the similarly priced versions on Amazon (and at the time of this review, the cheapest option). And based on what i see, it lives up to the promise. It already came with locks, and has all 3 of the most popular sizes. It also had the most number of spacing options. Alot of the concerns of older reviews have been engineered out. One review did mention that the sliding piece is not connected in the back, but i understand to get near 0 offset, you cannot have the back filled in. The only improvements i would suggest would be an additional hole in the shank like other competitors (for additional versatility connecting to various hitch receivers), and some rubber washers to take up some of the slack in the lock pins. I used 2 rubber garden hose washers and they fit nice and tight and keep the pins from moving side to side.

Looks solid and strong, lighter than expected but that's because it's aluminum, the locking system for the ball has improved since some of these reviews were given and I am confident they will hold, I definitely enjoy that there are locks included that, haven't towed with it yet but soon I'll test this out, I got it because I haul a 6x10 enclosed trailer with a 2in ball and need a 6in drop to keep it level and my boat is a 1 7/8 and needs to sit higher, it's nice to have the versatility to switch it out and not carry different hitches with me and the ability to adjust the height for any trailer I tow

I just received this and am thoroughly impressed with the sturdiness of the product. The new design for the ball locking pins is great. Overall very impressed out of the box. This will easily save time and money for me as I can quickly change the hitch on the fly with NO TOOLS! YAY! I'm looking forward to hitching up soon! Stability is a 3 until it's road tested.

Looks great. heavy duty well made. As most of these mounts, it rattles a bit but issue fixed after using a couple of plastic shims. Love it. Would buy it again.

What a great hitch for the price. FAR LIGHTER then any one of the hitches it replaces and its super easy to adjust the hight, ball etc. I have several trailers for different jobs and two tow rigs that are not the same hight. So for me this one hitch replaces 6+. I have a wall of hitches in the shop. I managed to fit this hitch in a 1/2 Milwaukee case and That fits behind the rear seat of my F150. I do wish they supplied a proper case for it but the hitch itself matters more.

This is a beautiful trailer hitch. As in, it's shiny and looks great to the point where my kids enjoy touching it, like a work of art. The welds are perfect, and the design of interchanging the balls is not what I had expected, but is actually better and works flawlessly. The fact that it comes with a pin and 2 locking pins is a bonus - everything you need is here. I had to take off 1 star though, as I physically could not get the safety clips into the holes of the locking pins when in the holes to lock the ball in place. The tolerances were just too tight, so I had to drill out the holes in the pins a little larger and now it's perfect. Set it up with a 3" rise on the wife's Armada for a perfectly level 16' flat deck with a Teryx4 on board. Used it a couple of times now, and have no complaints.
