There is no way that this is safe?

There are plenty of devices that might only draw a fraction of a watt each... Right now I have a Led light strip, LED desk lamp, coupled of phone chargers, a TV, a PC, two monitors, external HDD, coupled of powered USB splitters, a game console ot two and some other junm at my desk. That is already what 13 plugs? And even if they all were on at once that would probably be less then 1250w when the plug and wire should handle 1800w at 14g or 2400 at 12g. But the fact of the matter is most will not be on at the same time. So yes this can be perfectly safe.

Do the side outlets turn/flip down to accommodate larger plugs?

I have the white version of this and I absolutely love it! The side outlets DO NOT turn or flip at all. They are fixed. I have five appliances plugged in on one side. Four of those plugs are rather large, and they do not crown each other. With 22 outlets, not counting the USB ports, it can accommodate lots of electronic treasures. And it is well worth the $. I don't think you need moveable outlets. Enjoy.
