Completely satisfied with this instrument. Playable right out of the box. Though it will benefit greatly from a full setup. (As does any guitar at any price) if you are looking to play this as it comes it is absolutely fine. Especially if u are a novice. ( and not worried about tone yet) The only real negative is the stock bridge pickup. The neck pickup is decent and totally useable but the bridge is pretty bad tone wise and tends to feedback very easliy. But i am not shocked or disappointed. Honestly, for the price they sound as I expected. And I am pretty impressed with the neck pickup. The build quality is very impressive at this price....maybe even several times this price. The tuners are decent. They have some play in the tuning mechanism but were otherwise smooth and held tune well. Im not sure what the nut is made of... bone...maybe. plastic....probably. but it is cut well and seems fairly hard. The frets were very smooth and level with no dead spots. Fret ends were nicly rounded and comfortable. No fret sprout at all. :) And HEY STAINLESS STEEL!! Very nice. Fretboard was dry but oiled up nicely. The neck itself is smooth c-shape pattern maybe a little chunkier than modern teles, but only slightly. And FYI the neck is not reliced or worn In any way. Not a good or bad thing but if you are expecting all parts of this guitar to be reliced...they are not. Actually only the body is. The body is HEAVY. Guitar weighs in at just under 10 lbs. It is Very solid and quite resonant. The finish is a solid relic job and looks great to me. The purple has a metallic shine and looks great against the dark elm wood. Way better in person than photos. It has a nice tummy cut and arm contour. As well as a slim comfortable neck joint. Very impressive. I like this relic job better than some ive seen on guitars 10x as expensive. Hardware is solid. The bridge even has brass saddles. Nice touch. Electronics worked well and had no issues. Out-of-the-box it played well. Sounded ok(after a little amp tweaking). And felt quite comfortable. It is a solid guitar and an amazing mod platform. With some basic maintenance it will be a great guitar. Add a few upgrades and it will be mind-blowing! TLDR: Amazing value!! Highly recommended!

This is surprisingly good. There are things that are common on budget guitars that need addressing. 1) three high frets (easy fix). 2) neck shim ( easy fix). 3) swapped saddles for Gotoh compensated. Personal preference. ( Guitar intonates just fine as is) The one issue is the microphonic pickups. I swapped those out with a Set of fender high output. If the pickups didn't suck I would of rated this guitar a 5. Now this guitar sounds and plays great. It's worth the money if you know how to set up a guitar.

Another amazing guitar from Censtar/KGD!! This is my fifth Censtar guitar, the other four are branded by their KGD series. I have three LP copies and one SG copy. This Tele copy that I just received is maybe a bit higher on the quality scale when compared to the others, which makes it an unbelievable bargain! Fit and finish is near perfect and the relic job is awesome. The neck is thin and very fast; much better than my Fender Tele with the thick lacquer finish. Ball end frets with NO fret sprout. The electronics are great… no need to upgrade. I unboxed it, tuned it and jammed for a couple of hours. This guitar sounds more “Tele” than my Fender, and handles Merle Haggard as well as the Stones open G tuning stuff perfectly. I love Censtar/KGD guitars and highly recommend them. I even went so far as to send an email to their corporate headquarters in China praising their quality and price. After buying five of their guitars, I can safely say that I didn’t just get lucky with one or two good ones… Censtar makes great guitars!

While I love the purple relic job, the pickups were ultimately just so tinny and underpowered. It needed a significant adjustment to get the setup right, but it finally did get playable. For only $150, it's probably a good platform for modding, as it definitely needs a pickup upgrade.

The quality is comparable if not better than the lowest grade Fender Squire I once owned...and it stands with the $799.00 Fender Telecaster I recently sold. I had to make slight adjustments to get it to maximum playability, e.g., basic set up and string change...if I were still gigging, I probably would swap out the pickups...or make a concerted effort to get the standard pickup ups up to grade, e.g., I played with adjusting height, and they sound pretty good. It's an excellent guitar for recording cleaner tones. The only issue, which can be remedied with a simple fix...the string groove in nut for the G string is a little shallow...so if you hammer it, Pete Townsend style (wind-milling!), the G string pops out of groove...Since I no longer hammer guitars in my old age...it's not an issue for me. I have thick fingers and the fret board is comfortable, conducive to fingering chords...even in the first position. I'm impressed with it and I am happy with my purchase...

It arrived with a cracked neck right above the neck pocket it therefore I returned it. Other than that, body is light. I don't know what kind of wood they used, but it is definitely NOT mahogany as advertised. Mahogany is a heavy, dense wood. The guitar wood is so light is creates a bit of a neck dive. The pickups are awful and require replacing. The wood on the neck feels cheap also. Acoustic-wise it sounds like tin. I think it's the cheap metal in the bridge. Everything else is OK. Maybe other guitars will be OK for a project guitar or a around-the-house guitar where you're not worried about banging it around.

Great value. Quality is better than you would expect for the price.

Definitely worth it. I did swap out all of the electronics After a day. The neck also feels surprisingly good.
