Update: I still like the quality of the cameras but they can be really frustrating in some regards. Like the fact that I’ve just changed internet providers for the second time since I’ve owned them. There is no way to update them to a new wireless system. All you can do is remove them from the app and reinstall them. Which wouldn’t be a huge deal if the removal process would allow them to be reinstalled. But it’s not that simple. You have to completely reset them. Again, not a huge thing if the reset button were not underneath the little door where the memory card goes. I’ve had three neck surgeries & have a bunch of hardware in my neck. So I either have to climb a ladder and take down the entire camera in order to reset it. Or, remove the tiny little screws from the door while standing on a ladder outside and reset the camera, then put the little door back on. It’s ridiculously difficult to do when they could just allow a reset from the app. And I have no idea if, once all this is completed, if I will be able to access the video that is already stored on the memory card from the previous wireless account. Which stinks because I think the installer of the new wireless broke a deck box in my back yard while installing the wiring at the back of my home. The only way to know for sure is to view the videos stored on the card. So if they broke it, I may not have any proof to get reimbursed for it. UGH!!!! I’ve had these cameras for a long time now and realized even though I’m very impressed with them, I never wrote a review. I think for the money, they are the best cameras you could buy. They are simple to set up and install. They will accept micro sd cards for storing video so you do not require a service or a monthly fee. I chose these because they will track movement. So I can see my dogs or my child wherever they go in my back yard. I set up two: one on one side of the back door and one on the other. The only stipulation is they require an outlet to plug them in. But I have a pool in back so I have outlets in several places for plugging in the pool robot and entertainment devices. I can view both cameras via an app on my phone or my Alexa Show device. The image quality is good and with both I can see my entire back yard. I highly recommend these cameras to anyone looking for some simple home security or just the security of being able to keep an eye on your pets or children in your yard.

This security camera is awesome! For the price it is top notch! It has so many great features and has an amazing range. Pan, tilt, detection, everything works great. Playback runs seamlessly! Will be purchasing a few more of these!

This is one of my favorite cameras—I’ve had it for over 3 years (maybe even longer), and it has never given me any issues. It’s been very reliable the entire time. The apps (Tapo or Kasa) are amazing—super easy to use and simple to set up and program. The video quality is excellent, and setting up notifications is quick and straightforward. I also like the size of the camera—it’s not too big or too small, and it blends in well. Most people don’t even notice it at the entrance, which is a nice bonus. As long as it’s plugged in, there’s no need to worry about battery life at all. Overall, a great security camera that I would definitely recommend!

It is a decent cameraggyr, and has very good night vision, however, it's just lack of zooming function. Wi-Fi connection is also good.

Works great and seems to be reliable. The only complaint I have about Tapo cameras is that only certain memory chips seem to work and others don’t. TP-Link should publish a list of compatible memory chips which is updated twice a year. They have a list but they don’t list all that are compatible, like Amazon Basic chips.

I’ve been using this Tapo C510W camera outside my property and it works really well. The 2K video is clear and the 360° view helps cover a big area. Setup was easy through the Tapo app and the motion alerts are useful. Been reliable so far and great for keeping an eye on things.

Got this for the backyard but expect a plug for this matter. It's very short so be prepared to buy an extension cord if it's far from the outlet. Overall very good camera...please be known it's protected from rain, snow and direct sunlight so if you wish to test it without coverage...good luck. The mounting was easy, instructions was very easy and lighting can be better, however night vision is very clear...

Excellent Products, Outstanding Customer Service After starting with a competitive (and yes, cheaper) competitor's camera, I decided to try Tapo because I have several TP-Link devices and a WiFi router already installed in my house, and they have performed flawlessly. Good decision! My first Tapo camera choice was a wired C510W, which I wanted for our front porch, This Pan/Tilt camera is very well constructed, and easy to install. (Tapo even provided an extra screw. Who hasn't had a dropped/lost screw turn an easy install into an unfinished nightmare?) Once installed and connected, it worked almost exactly as expected, and provided excellent video. One minor shortcoming is that the "person detect" function applies some sort of AI processing after the camera has detected motion, so you cannot easily limit recordings only to people. Turning on motion detection means capturing any movement first, and then post-processing to see if people were captured. Generated lots of recordings without people in my case. Still, really great camera controls and filters and settings to help minimize false event recording, which I did eventually master. Good notification tools and easy controls and access to review recorded video without wasting a lot of time searching. EXCELLENT camera! Another good indication of the company's thinking is the web-based optional service provided free for the first month with the camera purchase. When the one-month trial ends, the service is terminated by default (!), so you are not automatically enrolled in the service with recurring costs every month. Easy to subscribe and keep it going, of course. My second camera was a fully wireless C425 with an integrated PIR motion detector to specifically identify and capture people or pets, to monitor comings and goings of animals in our back yard. Again, easy to install and connect, and again, a spare screw for the fumble-fingered amon us. The PIR makes recording of animals and people a breeze. The battery life is very good so far, although I have a lot of squirrels in the yard, so the camera wakes up often. Still, after three weeks of recording squirrels abd rabbits, the battery is still at 83%, more than meeting my expectations. Totally satisfied with the PIR funcionality and the camera features overall. Another W=EXCELLENT camera. As a final note, Tapo's customer service has been simply outstanding. Quick, knowledgable, relevant responses, and an obvious commitment to customer satisfaction make this arguably the best company I've ever dealt with when it comes to customer support. Very good picture qaulity even in low light. IP connected so can be remotely viewed. Built qaulity and performance almost as good much more expensive brands.
