My daughter suffers from daily migraines so I purchased the Headache Hat for her in 2020. To say this has been a godsend is an understatement. It is truly the only thing that makes her feel better on a daily basis. The "hat" is made of 3 rows of "ice cubes"-which are fluid filled plastic pillows(my description) that turn solid when placed in the freezer. The hat itself wraps around your head and can be adjusted for tightness by a piece of velcro. I do recommend buying the cloth sleeve that covers it as the hat is a little too cold without it. For some reason, it never occurred to me to purchase a second one, but I decided to get another one so she could swap out the first when it gets warm. She says it typically stays cold for about 1 1/2 hours. I've read some people flip it over to the other side to use it even longer. My daughter loved the first one immediately. There was no breaking in time. This new one was a bit tighter and just not as comfortable for her to use. I thought that maybe it needed to stretch a bit, but was still irritated that it wasn't like the original. I decided to go the theheadache.com website to see if maybe I should order directly from the site. The owner, Sherri, answered me almost immediately. I cannot say enough great things about the response I received! Sherri was so responsive and just wanted to make everything right. She expressed that she wished people would reach out to her directly to see if she can resolve any problems they may have. She also explained that these hats are made by sewers and not machines so there can be a small margin of error in the sizing, but typically the standard size is 22-23 inches and the XL size is 24-25 inches and they do stretch little over time. I measured the original and sent her a picture comparing the two. I ended up returning the original hat and purchased from her site directly. There are also other items for sale on her website. There is still a little adjustment to the new hat, but overall, my daughter is very pleased to have a second one available when she needs it. Regardless if you purchase on Amazon or from her website, I advise reaching out to her directly if you are not happy with your purchase. There is an option on Amazon to do that when you start the return process. Excellent customer service!

I almost gave it 4 stars but decided that wouldn't be fair since it's still the best product for headaches I've ever found. My only issues was that I was looking for another headache hat like the one i had which I guess was the original version??. I needed a second one because I was sick of deciding if it was the right time to use it or if I should wait or use a gel pack that only lasted 20 minutes. The one I got in 2018 is twice as thick, with a nice bag and a felt liner that allows for longer more comfortable wear which is perfect for my headaches and migraines as you can see in the image. The felt piece fits on the new one, not to mention you can make your own in about 2 minutes so no big deal there. I don't believe this one will last as long as the original simply because of the size difference but it will still last much longer than anything else I have. I do prefer the stretchy material the new one uses and it is $15 cheaper than the larger one I got 8 years ago so I definitely don't feel like I was ripped off at all but I would still prefer the older one and its larger size since I have a large head. Overall its still the best product I've ever used and would still highly recommend it.

My husband unfortunately is a migraine sufferer. He gets them at least 3 times a month and they can last anywhere from 3 days to about 7 days. He is under a doctor's care for this and is on prescription medicine to keep them from not happening so much. The medicine is also supposed to shorten the duration of the migraine. Even with all of this he still suffers. We have tried other types of gel packs and other therapies to remedy this. None has worked very well for him. We found this headache hat that is actually a nice wrap. It has small gel packs that freeze in them. They are removable and easily inserted back in the hat. As soon as I received this hat I placed it in the freezer so it will be ready when the next migraine strikes my husband. Sure enough he has had another migraine and we were able to test out the hat. It has a cloth that you easily attach to the inside so that it is not so cold. It does not cover the top of his head. It is black which is nice because it blocks out the light. The light is always a problem with his migraines. I had him lie down on the couch with it on. He told me that the hat felt light given the fact it is full of ice cubes and the material felt nice also. He was able to keep it on for about 30 minutes although the instructions suggest 20 minutes on then break. We flipped the pack over after he took a short break from it and this time he fell asleep with it on. That part is unusual as he usually does not sleep well when he has a migraine because the pain is too bad. His migraine only lasted the better part of the day verses several days like in the past. According to my husband this is the best relief he has had so far. We will keep this in the freezer so that it is always ready for the next go around. This headache hat comes with complete instructions and a bag to place it in to store it in your freezer. There is a cloth insert that you attack to the hat so that the ice will not be too cold. It can be removed as the ice packs start to unfreeze. It rolls up or folds up easily so that it fits back into the bag. It blocks the light while wearing it to help the migraine go away. There is no leaking mess that comes with regular ice packs, and the ice cubes stay cold for quite a while.

I have had this "hat" for over a year now. I have intractable daily migraines and have had a migraine every day, all day for more than 2 years now. A cold compress will often help to dull the pain and make it manageable. As you can imagine, I have tried several different products. Of all of the cold compresses I have tried, this on the is my favorite. Please read on for my pros and cons. Pros: - Material is soft and stretchy making it easy to place this where it hurts - Velcro allows you to keep this in place and tighten it as much or as little as you want - Individual ice cubes can be moved around, allowing you to put cold where you want it, and have none where you don't want it - Has help up for over a year, even with frequent use. Cons: - The price point seems high. I think that of all of the migraine hat type products. - The name "Headache Hat" is misleading because this does not cover the entire head. It wraps around the head, leaving an opening on top. If you want full coverage, a product like IceKap or MigraCap will probably be what you need. I prefer this compress because sometimes all over cold is just too much for me and makes my pain worse. - I would like the addition of a few more cold cubes. There is room for more and at this price, a few more is a reasonable request. Overall, this is a great product. I have not found a better product of this type than this one. I would have given this five stars if there were more cubes. To me, a five star rating means I can't see a way that the product can be improved. I have a freezer full of different cold compress products, some made for migraine and some not, and this is always the first one I choose. I would get a second one but the cost prevents me from doing so. I highly recommend this if you suffer from migraines or headaches and cold gives you some relief.

I've tried just about every migraine cold therapy wrap on Amazon, but this is the only one I've kept. I actually have 4 of them that I rotate thru on bad days. It stays cold for 60-90 min. It's filled with individual ice pods, and Amazon has replacement pods available, a few of which I've added to each of my Headache Hats to add ice coverage under the overlapping part of the wrap (which doesn't come with any pods in it, leaving that area uniced). I've had a couple pods break, too, and the replacement pods are easily swapped out thru the one end that has a Velcro closure. This also allows the hat to be washed if needed, too. The other thing I like about this wrap, in particular, is that the pods can be slid side to side, which allows me to create a space without any ice pods over my ears - nobody wants frostbitten ears! The material is somewhat stretchy, which allows you to create a little compression if desired. The only thing that I haven't been able to modify myself that I'd change is to extend the length of the Velcro, because after a while, the fabric starts to get sort of stretched out such that only a small strip of Velcro is left to secure it, which is hit or miss. I've started using a stretchy headband to help hold it in place. Anyway, if you suffer from chronic migraines, I highly recommend this cold therapy head wrap!

Update- I have used this almost daily for years now, it's great around your neck too. Soft material helps for no drips. To wash, put in a large bowl of warm water and Dawn soap, let is sit for 20 min., dry on a towel, put back in the freezer. 5+ stars from a gal dealing with painful, hereditary, chronic migraines the past 20 years that worsened. Save yourself the time, stop researching like I did and just buy this perfect headache hat, here’s why. This even better 2.0 version is the same great model from 3 years ago but better with soft material similar quality to Lululemon, Nike or Adidas type dri-fit material- love it. I’ve even worn it to sleep and in the car. I appreciated the instructions sheet and the on-the-go bag which I used to bring my headache hat with me when I leave home. It stayed cold and comforting for hours (way longer than my ice gel packs or messy ice bags), impressive. I usually don’t put it over my eyes so I can try and be mobile/productive when I can with a headache, but you can adjust it to cover your eyes for maximum comfort. My husband likes it to cool down especially in the summer months. He occasionally gets stress headaches and said it’s soothing and cools you down faster than anything in the hotter months. He used it on his knee too. I am now mobile and can work remote wearing this weekly because I found it even helps PREVENT my headaches. I prefer this versatile head wrap style instead of a cap that completely covers the top of my head, smashing my hair down for a bedhead look when I pull it off for work. It’s more like a chic, stylish turban than a Dr. Seuss looking cap. This headache hat can be easily adjusted to cover the top of your head if needed though. Having 2 to rotate is ideal. An affordable, quality, comforting product that actually works.

Really happy with this because it uses real ice (encased in plastic) rather than gel. Gel has a much lower freezing point than water, which means it melts really fast and within ten minutes, you need a new one. This one lasts for hours. It comes with 24 indivudually wrapped pieces of ice, spread out in three rows. It velcros in the back. The only thing I'd improve is to make one with only two rows of ice, which could be used as a migraine headband and be worn fashionably out of the house. They do make gel ones like that, but by the time you get anywhere, the gel is melted, and it's useless for migraines. I calculated how many of those I'd have to buy (even just by replacing the gel packs in the ones that open), and I quickly hit $500 for a few hours use and gave up that plan. I bought a bag of replacement cubes -- available on Amazon but advertised for coolers not as migraine headbands - so that I could go a whole day if I packed the cubes in a little cooler bag (and wasn't going to be seen by anyone but family.). They're a little trouble to switch in and out before you get the hang of it, but a lot cheaper than buying two of these, and the learning curve is quick. I can do a full change in a couple of minutes, then put the original ice cubes in the freezer to freeze and be ready when it's time to change the second set. This brand used to make headband versions, but they no longer do. I'm jealous of my friends who knew to buy them then. I hate the full-hat versions that cover even more than this one and which also often cover the eyes. I can put ona separate eye mask if I need one, but it's nice to be able to walk around the house when I'm able without being blinded by my ice pack. They also freeze a lot faster than the gel packs, which never actually freeze. The gel packs are favored because they're more flexible, but that comes at the expense of their not staying cold for more than 10 minutes. Individual one-inch by one-inch real ice mimics that flexibility.

The reason the woman in the photo is wearing this over her eyes is not that doing so feels great(!), but rather that there aren't additional sizing options for her to wear it otherwise! The single strip of Velcro for the closure does not provide options for tightening it, which makes it less comfortable and more annoying than it should be while being non-conducive to further tightening--adding that additional pressure to the skull which I find to be so integral in terms of dealing with this type of pain. There is a large gap of fabric at this closure (which is useful because it allows one to move the ice pockets around (away from my ears/more stacked near the worse pain). I plan to sew another strip of Velcro there, despite my rear-end long hair-- priorities!) to better keep it in place so I may possibly move around--get something done--during the few and rare moments of hopeful-somewhat relief that I had hoped this would provide. I have all-day every-day migraines that have no peaks or valleys; they are just a hellish permanent part of my every moment and this does provide as-near-immediate as possible relief. This is so very well sewn; the pouch is nice and it provides a great deal of perceived value. However, this thing works! The “real” ice is the most cold and BEST for immediate relief—so much more so much as gel. I do wish it would last as ice melts quite quickly on a feverishly pained skull. Pros: Works; real ice is properly cold. Well-made. Cons: No sizing options. Thicker ice-cubes may make the relief last longer. Requires something (fabric? though I do love the spandex) to provide more tension to the skull. I think the price makes sense for the amount put into making these; I do NOT, though, think that it is justified having not thought of and incorporated these obvious (to me, in pain) features at this price originally.

I had been enduring a non-stop migraine headache for several days. No pills worked. I coped with work only and only with this wearable ice pack. Important instructions - dos and donts - accompany the product, which makes it clear for how long its safe to use this pack.

If you get bad migraines or headaches are hot headed highly recommend this. I love that it wraps all the way around my head. It's a bit pricey, but after comparing it to other similar things on the market this worked best for me .

It’s a very nice cool hat which you can use on other painful parts of the body, due yo the Velcro fastening. However, the instructions included were all in French!

Mein Körper leidet im Sommer unter den hohen Temperaturen. Mir geht es dann oft sehr schlecht. Mit dieser Eispackung konnte ich diesen Sommer besser überstehen. Ich habe es teils als Stirnband bei Kopfschmerzen oder auch als Schal bei Überhitzungssymptomen genutzt. Es hat meine Körpertemperatur heruntergekühlt und hielt auch länger kühl als bisherige Kühlpacks. Das Beste daran ist der Klettverschluss, mit dem man durch die Gegend laufen oder entspannt sitzen oder liegen kann ohne dauernd ein rutschendes Kühlpack festzuhalten.

Legit one of the best things ive bought for my migraines. It is a bit lumpy when its first out of the freezer, but that's nothing compared to the prolonged cooling it offers. I have worn it over a thin gel cap style one which made it comfy. I haven't tried it warm, and am unlikely to as cold is my pain relief of choice. Im off to buy a second one so I can have one freezing as I wear the other. Best and most long lasting one I can find on the market today.
