90204Z B-hyve Gen 2 Smart Hose Watering Timer with Wi-Fi Hub

Compared to the older water timers, this is the next generation. Easily programmed, it has been reliably watering my new grass seed 4 times a day for the last 10 days with no hitches. It keeps me in the loop with frequent status reports, and it even watches the weather reports to save water when it rains or add a bit when it’s extra hot. All this is fairly common for whole-yard irrigation systems, but above and beyond for a faucet switch. The app interface gives flow rates, which my main irrigation system does not. I’m very pleased.

Such a great device. Automated my garden watering while i was out of the country for two weeks. I came back with a lush garden. I setup timer to water every other day. It notifies me when it started and when it turns off. It also save me water by not watering if rain is in the forcast. Easy to setup. So happy i bought another one for my front lawn, but just the timer since already have the hub. Easy control using phone app, i can turn on/off any unit without going outside.

This timer works great and I do love it but sometimes i want to trigger it manually and if I don’t have my phone on me I can’t do it. This particular unit would be best in a situation where you program it and never use it otherwise. That is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. There is a single hose unit that has a digital read out and buttons though. The hub is fantastic. Without it you can only operate the timers or set up a schedule with bluetooth in close range- like within 5-10 feet, with it you can operate them from anywhere. You can connect multiple timers (they say up to 64) to one hub. I’m a big fan of all of their products. In the absence of a sprinkler system, these timers have helped me tremendously and saved me a lot of money since I don’t have to hire someone to water when I’m away. They are easy to install and set up in the app. I haven’t had any leakage problems.

Worked fine for about a week then it failed with the valve open and kept watering until i notified it. Was not able to connect to it until i removed batteries to reset it. Works now but im not taking another change with this failing again. This should be designed to close the valve if it fails.

10/10 how did people ever grow grass before? Having this set like clockwork to water grass seed this fall was heaven sent. I originally got it because I planned to leave town but wanted my grass to still survive. And wow- so glad I got this, I took it away for the winter season but excited to have it work for me again next season! My only regret is I didn’t get the multi faucet option- one is never enough!

Awesome Gen2 works so much better than Gen 1 for the wifi dongle part. I had the gen 1 dongle and it wouldnt reach 1 area in back yard. now all of my units have a better wifi connection than before.

Great concept. Worked well for 6 weeks. Then lost internet connection. No warning provided. We did not know that it stopped getting weather data and adjusting the over night watering schedule as needed, until we saw it watering in the rain September 21. Diagnosed and realized it failed to water during draught snd watered during rain since first week in August. Very expensive for a watering system that is not smart and cannot be controlled remotely.
