Farrow & Ball Living with Colour

This long awaited book took much longer than usual to arrive on my doorstep due to delivery problems, however once I did receive it, it proved well worth the wait! The book is a fabulous coffee table addition to my already expanding interior design collection. The photographs are beautiful, the text alongside the photographs are detailed, explaining the owners of the particular homes in question and the Farrow and Ball paints used on specific areas within the room, such as 'Lime white was used on the skirtings as well as the walls'. I found myself with my new book in the one hand and my farrow and ball paint swatch booklet in the other! I can't wait to order my farrow and ball paints! Anyone who loves really beautiful interiors will love this book, it's not only about paints but an exquisite interior book as well!

Farrow and Ball have always interested me the colours they produce are amazing and the quality of paint is excellent! The book helps with choice of colour for varying rooms, houses, cottages different architectural styles, very interesting, more than happy to peruse at any time and would recommend to family and friends.

This is a lovely book. Some people have criticised it as an extended advert for F&B paints but anyone who didn't expect this when they bought the book is a bit naive. I like using F&B paints in my home; the most useful aspect of the book is perhaps ideas for combinations because the reproduction of the colours is completely unreliable from looking at these photos, however sumptuous. Not that this matters. A minor niggle: was it really necessary to have two houses belonging to William Palin, complete with his rather pretentious statements about the 'poetry' and 'dignity'of spaces etc? Both his houses are lovely (how I'd love my dad to buy me a house like that!) but despite being built at opposite ends of the Georgian period they aren't very different at all in style, decor etc. Also, with literally scores of colours to choose from Mr Palin has chosen EXACTLY THE SAME COLOURS in each house, almost to the room! So why on earth include both in a book about colours? It's a wasted opportunity and another house could have been featured. It's terribly unimaginative of the owner - maybe he doesn't want to deviate from an interior designer's scheme? - and a bit dull for the reader. But rant over...this really is a nice book to have on the coffee table and if you haven't tried the colours they are simply lovely paints to use with wonderful depth and variability to the colours.

Wel-written, well illustrated, like all of Ros Byam Shaw's books. Recommended.

This book is elegant and the houses pictured are styled in the way that I want my house to look like so it is a great inspiration. Lovely colour schemes and great ideas. Definitely recommend!

This was a christmas present for my brother and he was absolutely delighted with the book. It will be such a help in the coming months when he is painting his house.

This book has some nice interior photos, and those who like the F&B style won't be disappointed. It does read rather like an advertorial, so don't expect too much detailed technical colour advice. Now here's the problem...the colour rendering in the photos is awful! Not sure if this is a printing error, or they actually deliberately adjusted the hues to make the photos more attractive. However, a quick comparison with the F&B colour chart, and you realise that the colours shown in the book bear no resemblance to the actual F&B colours. Since this is a book about colour, I find that very disappointing!

We've just used this book as a great way to narrow down our options for decorating our new flat. The photos are excellent and there is a comprehensive index - for each F&B colour in the book, each page it features on is listed.

Ｆ＆Ｂ （インテリアペイントです）のショールームにて、こちらの本を見ました。 コーディネーターの方が「アマゾンでも購入できますよ♪」と教えて下さったので、プチリフォームの参考の為に購入。 大抵の本（雑誌以外）は図書館で借りる派ですが、この本は購入して正解でした。 インテリアの好みは別としても、壁や天井、木製品などの色使い、塗り分けなど、ペイントでリフォームしたい人にはとても参考になると思います。 解説は英文ですが、英語が全くダメな私でも使われてる色の名前は判るので、いつかＦ＆Ｂでペイントしたいと思ってる方にも最適です。 塗装された部分が主役の本なので、インテリア雑誌に紹介されがちな豪華だったり作りたてだったりの部屋ではなく、 タイトルどおり？の、片付いていてもまとまっていても、ゴージャスであっても、生活感を感じる内容がいい感じです。 小さなコーナーの演出などは、狭い我が家でも参考になります。 真っ白のビニール壁紙には飽きたと言う方、ＤＩＹでペイントリフォームしてみたい人、 ポップなインテリアはちょっと。。。って方にはお薦めです。 定価ＵＳ＄４０なのにこの価格。 内容からするとお得感あり過ぎです。笑 追記、注文当時、日本円で３１５８円でした。 今はそんな価格にはなりづらいと思いますが、洋書は多少の前後は常にあるようです。 直ぐに要らない方はお気に入りに入れて様子を見てみるのも（高くなる可能性もあるわけですが）いいかもしれません。

Ein wunderschönes Buch und eines meiner Lieblingsbücher betreffend Interior. Habe mir daraufhin einige Farrow & Ball Farben zugelegt und meine Wände und Möbel gestrichen. Super Qualität, mit keiner anderen bisher probierten Farbe zu vergleichen. Weder an Intensität noch an Qualität. Das Buch gibt viele Einrichtungsvorschläge und hat mich zum farrow & Ball Fan gemacht!

Dieses Buch hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Tolle Ideen und Tipps für den täglichen Gebrauch. Wer einmal mit den Farben von F & B gearbeitet hat, der wird das auch verstehen.

Beautiful pictures and ideas. Haven't read much of the text yet but that's not why I buy design books!

Das Buch ist voll von geschmackvollen Bildern. Vom kleinen Cottage über urbane Lofts zum edlen Landhaus - alles wurde mit den subtilen Farben gestaltet und wirkt sehr britisch. Ich habe viele Anregungen für die Farbgestaltung in den eigenen vier Wänden mitgenommen. Das Buch gibt Anregungen ohne Vorschriften zu machen und weckt Lust und Mut etwas auszuprobieren.
