After visiting my local big box hardware store and finding that 50' of vinyl coated stainless steel rope for dog tryouts runs around a buck a foot, this spool seemed like a bargain at less than half the price.Product Quality: I could't immediately test the austenitic nature of the strands, but there was no discernible magnetic attraction with a magnet, so it's most likely genuine 304. The vinyl-ish sheathing is very flexible given the dozen or so strands encased within and that's fine for my projected usage. Note that UV may deteriorate the softer vinyl coating if it's left outside for extended periods.The swage sleeves are aluminum and are a little large for the rope diameter. I measured the rope's OD @ 2.3mm (~3/32").The included wire cutting pliers are lower quality, but serviceable for their intended use and a nice inclusion. Lacking an eccentric pivot, they're not suitable for crimping the swage. Cutting with plain wire cutters should be fine since the encased strands prevent fraying.Product Use: NOTE: Use caution when unwrapping the shrink wrap from the spool; The rope will unwind quickly. Ask me how I know.I had two uses for this purchase, dog tieouts and lanyards to prevent casual theft for some pricey deck furniture. The wire rope cut nicely with the included wire cutters as they did with my wire cutters. The sweges were crimped-on using a hammer backed by the curb outside my house. Despite being larger than necessary, the crimp did not slip after a few hammer blows.Final Thoughts: If you're looking for light-duty encased wire rope, look no further. It's a relative bargain if you need this much quantity, and you couldn't duplicate this package (rope/cutters/swages) for the current price locally. The only misgiving I have is the durability of the coating.The light, flexible nature of the material does give up strength for flexibility, but flexibility is what my needs were. Still, it would take a lot of tensile strength to break this rope. I just wouldn't use it to pull a car out of a ditch.

As a result of being braided stainless steel wire coated with vinyl, it is very strong and weather resistant. The diameter of the wire is perfect for being unobtrusive while it works. It comes with the wire coiled onto a 3.75”W x 3.5”H unlabeled black plastic spool wrapped in stretch wrap. The package includes a very capable wire cutter and 60 dual chamber sleeves. The twin sleeves’ internal diameters are perfect for the 3/32” cable, but the amount of material in the sleeves seems excessive so that they stand out in a disproportionate manner. It’s a minor issue and you can always use 3rd party sleeves. This wire functions exactly as described, it looks nice but is hardly noticeable since it is so thin and is black. Stripping back the vinyl reveals braided stainless steel wire that appears to be of good quality and though it is thin, it is very strong. I will also be using it to hang our exterior Christmas wreathes in the window openings this season.MOST SUITABLE FOR: using as a wire guideIS IT WORTH IT?: For its versatility and functionality, for me yes it is. It would be difficult to find anything similar in the exact needed length for any less. I used this as a light stringer for supporting an overhead electrical run, and as lightweight guy wires for stabilizing a small sapling. It has been serving great in both those roles. The included cutters were a nice addition, and have been useful for cutting other wire rope. The crimps seemed a little large, so I used a hammer and anvil to swage them securely onto the wire rope. I don't think they are coming apart any time soon. I'm unsure of the UV resistance of the vinyl coating, but if the encased wire is stainless, it shouldn't matter for my applications. I'm happy with the performance of this kit, and would recommend it to anyone looking for coated wire rope for light applications.

The cable is a great option for DIY projects. I've used it for hanging string lights to putting up sun sail shades. The included hardware helps to make for a clean finished look. At around $31.00 it's a great deal. With so many uses, I'm sure I'll need to purchase more. So I highly recommend.

This is a nice set of coated wire with crimps and a cutting tool. I need to make a custom wire line for a dog run outside, and this was a perfect solution. It looks durable, is easy to cut and crimp, and I really appreciate the cutting tool being included. The tool isn't professional quality but it's also not something I will be using more than once or twice a year. The cable itself is good quality and more than adequate for my application.
