Good speed and coverage
I'm using this mesh system for an office wifi. The coverage is very good and the speed is close to a basic wired connection for most purposes. The only problem was configuring the devices for a business environment. The app is not useful for this purpose and the active-by-default DHCP server causes issues. This wouldn't be a problem except that the device wants to connect to the Internet before setup can be completed and the web interface is not stable during initial setup. Once the setup is complete, the system works very well.

Nighthawk provides a strong & steady signal
This is an extremely valuable piece of equipment. It improved our security system ten fold. The signal it provides is absolutely fantastic and the after purchase support is beyond reproach. This product solved our WiFi problems as soon as we activated it. I strongly recommend this product for everyone who needs a strong signal and a wide area to cover. Before I bought my NightHawk my farthest Ring camera signal was in the mid seventies, but not with the NightHawk it’s in the low thirties which is extremely strong. And it’s constant, no dropping in the midnight or early morning hours. I strongly recommend this product and its support services.

Buyer's remorse
Update 1/15/2026 I purchased this router on October 2025. As of last week, this router started randomly freezing up and not communicating with connected devices or transmitting wireless signals. When I connect to the Netgear app, nothing would load which meant that the router froze or needed resetting. The only way to resolve this issue by unplugging the main unit, waiting 10 sec then plugging it back in and waiting 2-4 minutes for the unit to power back up. Highly disappointed with this product given the steep price (over $200). My cheap TP-Link Deco M5 from over 5 years never needed rebooting. As of today, I have unplugged these routers and went back to my old reliable Deco M5 mesh network. Downgrading from 4 stars to 1 due to reliability. Unfortunately I'm well over the return window so I cannot return and don't want to hassle with calling India to deal with Netgear's customer service which will just tell me to reset the routers. Original Review Solid Mesh Network Router. I've had this router now for 3 months and so far, it has worked great. I like the speed, reliability and ease of setup. Few things of concern: The units are a bit on the bigger side, and the aesthetics are not that great. The setup web interface menu is not very robust. Good if you want simplicity, bad if you like customizing your router and tinkering with the settings. The UI is not very intuitive with most of the key settings buried in the "advance" tab. The biggest downside of this mesh router system is the how poor the handoff is between the routers when you are walking from one side of the house to the other. It's slow and not seamless. It takes a long time for the routers to realize you are away from the originally connected unit so you get poor reception until the router finally passes your connection the nearest router. This is a major downside compared to the TP-Link mesh routers I owned before. Additionally, this router pings home ALOT! I'm not sure exactly why it pings netgear so much, but my DNS logs show the router sends info to netgear every single minute where all my other network equipment do not do that nearly as much.

Glad I Purchased
Contrary to some other reviews previously left about this mesh solution, I found using the Nighthawk app quite easy to initially configure and get the devices up/running. Make sure to remove power from your old AP/Router prior to configuring the new device(s) otherwise the NH app gets quite confused; error verbiage is not helpful in determining the problem. If you need more granularity in AP/mesh configuration, following the initial setup, you can manage the AP via the onboard web portal. If you have experience manually configuring other Nighthawk devices, new portal has same look/feel. I upgraded from a 10+ yr old Nighthawk R8000 (which I loved) but was WiFi5 (not 6) and didn't support WPA3. I was cautious purchasing this new Nighthawk based on a few of the negative reviews, however my experience was quite good and had the mesh setup in less than 30 mins (including unboxing). Had no issues with the satellites connecting; never had to sync - the app found them immediately and added to mesh. Now getting over 1Gbps throughput over Wifi. Nice.

1GB Wireless Speeds
Excellent system. Full coverage of the home. Even getting 300MBps down at my dad's shop from this system. Upgraded from an older orbi wifi mesh system after getting ATT fiber. Updated the firmware after setting the nighthawk system up and getting 1gb speeds on wifi alone. The sample photo is from a wireless test. Im sure to get those wifi speeds it will depend what channel your device is on and room factors. Definitely worth the price I feel like this was a steal. Food for thought. If your ethernet runs are less than 150ft. There is no need to upgrade your cat cable. I kept the cat5e installed just to see how it would handle the fiber and the new nighthawk wifi 6e mesh and its doing just fine. I might upgrade the lines in the future anyways.

Very little switching lag
Works well over a 3 story home. Very little lag when switching bases.

Great but you need to customize
Strong and wide-ranging coverage, but some IoT, like Smart doorbells, may not get very good reception unless you customize to 2.4 to get through brick or long distances. Once done, they have strong reception. All other devices get strong 5 and 6 reception. Very pleased so far. My biggest complaint is that rebooting takes longer than expected, but I have rarely needed to do that with past systems. WiFi 7 won’t be commonly supported for a year+ and 6E will provide abundant and serviceable speed for most users for the next 4-5 years. I returned this item because I found a new one on another site for only $199 - really for $100 since I didn't need to pay $99 to renew the Armor subscription on my existing Netgear router. Highly recommend, is fully customizable, you can control ports and most everything else.

Muy buen producto aunque al principio es difícil de configurar (aún con la app) buena calidad de materiales aunque ese negro glossy se mancha y atrapa mucho polvo ya funcionando es excelente.
