MTD Replacement Part .87 Logsp Coupling

This fit perfectly to my Cub Cadet 25 ton splitter. For those who are confused about the size let me break it down. Three piece set.Piece one is .87(5) 7/8 and is the top coupler from the engine.Piece two is the blue spider ring that fits between top and bottom couplers.Piece three is the bottom coupler that is .50 also (1/2 inch) goes to your hydraulic pump shaft. Other reviewers claim it doesn’t have the size listed but it clearly does in the tittle (.87 which is 7/8) and you can also see in the ad picture it is (.50)1/2 on the bottom. Enough ranting about people not being able to figure it out. It took less than an hour to install. Pretty basic mechanical stuff. Sure I could install it now in 30 mins. I have split one cord of soft woods and did another of oak and has worked perfectly so far.

I matched up part numbers from troy bilt site, and this looked like thenright part. The crank and pump shaaft diameter were right, but the assembly itself was smaller than the original, which was 2 inch diameter, this was about 1 1/2 inches. Also noticed key way on the crank was still there, but the pump, although there seems to be a slot for a keyway was not there, the parts diagram from tb doesn’t show one either, so I just tightened the hex screw into the slot, hope that works. There was no evidence of a plastic spider ever being there and the coupler halves wer really chewed up. My only concern is the strength of the coupler, and idk whats to prevent the bottom half of the coupler from sliding down, if that tiny set screw fails, which is what happened with the last one, which caused the pump to not work.
