Big. 10" blade. Sharp. Cut an orange and there was almost no juices on the cutting board. After several strokes on the Spyderco Tri-Angle sharpener and leather strop, it sliced flimsy, pulpy paper with a whisper. Nimble. For a large knife it is easy to wield. CS kitchen series doesn't disappoint.

Probably the largest kitchen knife I ever owned. Razor sharp, tough, and easy to sharpen and clean.

I use this knife everyday for cutting tasks in the kitchen. It holds an edge well and returns to scary sharp with trouble. It’s thinner behind the edge making it a great slicer. I thought it might be too big to be functional, but it’s balanced so well it feels better in hand and more controllable than my 8” knives. This is a great purchase for the price.

You can pay hundreds of dollars for one of those fancy Japanese chef's knives, and it won't be any better in quality than this Cold Steel Chefs knife! I have 6 other Cold Steel products, and they are all quality products! I didn't hesitate to order this knife when I saw it was manufactured by Cold Steel. The textured rubber handle has a very secure feel in your hand. And the blade is made from high quality German steel. A very high quality Chefs knife! I promise you will be completely satisfied with this knife! Buy a high quality sharpener to go along with it.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this knife in 2019, and I've never sharpened it. It's a serious tool on its own merit, let alone at the price point.It may seem almost comically big, but I haven't found a job too small for it either.Stating the obvious here, but it could also work as an ad hoc self-defense weapon.

When I received this knife i was skeptical, considering myself a bit of a knives-man (a term I may have made up) it was delivered in an oversized box my first reaction of course was what did I order? Did i finally Receive the 10 CDs that I ordered circa 1997 for $1.99? So I did what any inquisitive knives-man would do and shake the box violently with my head and ear close enough to the box to hear what was rattling around in the box. I realized I needed to open the gargantuan package but to my dismay i had nothing but my trusty teeth to open the package now because i am scared of micro plastics i chose to chomp the middle of the box. As i ripped into the cardboard my dog Waffles walked into the room with a disappointing look on his face so i yelled “DONT JUDGE ME WAFFLES” he then nudged over a pair of scissors a lot like the movie Lady and the Tramp but with scissors instead of a meatball. Then I thought about meatballs for the next 10 minutes completely forgetting the amazon box. When I looked back down to see the box with a big drooling bite mark in the side I remembered what I needed to do. It was at that time Waffles needed a walk as we walked around the neighborhood talking about meatballs and remembering on simpler times I said if only i had a way into the box when we got back into the house. This time no distractions it was me vs the box and only one of us was going to be living on the street on Monday waiting for the recycling truck to take us to our final resting place. So I came up with a plan and got my power tools ready and opened the box after a thorough interrogation of the box sitting it in a chair under a powerful overhead lamp and by “interrogation” I mean just yelling at the box “you think your better than me” my neighbor knocked on my door and asked if everything was alright? I said mind your business do-gooder what are you writing a book? He said he actually was writing a book about traveling by train internationally he calls it ‘On the Tracks my travels from India to Indiana’ he is always trying to one up me… he is a big one up-er. Anyway I opened the box and the knife levitated in the air with a shining light illuminating from it i grabbed it by the handle and a lightning bolt struck the knife and the energy ran through my body for a moment i felt as though I found my purpose i could see my past present and future I could see the line of my family from the beginning of time I saw ancient geometry and the meaning of life itself. It was at that moment ninja assassins broke into my home Waffles and I sprung into action and made quick work of these no-goodniks. But thats a story for another time… this knife is great, sharp, balanced and oversized enough to defeat ninja mercenaries sent by my arch nemesis.

This knife is thick and sharp out of the clamshell packaging. I have many folding cold steel knives and the chef knife does not disappoint. Best value out there along with the Victorinox knives, which are thinner. Had to buy another 1 for a family member to try.
