When you first get it, is the head hard to move? Is there a knack to moving it to tune it? Not sure if I have been sent one which doesn't tune

I don't think this model is intended to be tuneable. That said, I have five in different keys and the head part normally comes loose with a bit of warm water making the whistle tuneable to a degree. I have always found these whistles to be pretty close to concert pitch out of the box.
