Very good classic metal toolbox - I bought two

In my opinion...the tool box is very well made, and just the right size....I bought three each of them for my three young grandsons..filled them with the necessary tools one would need for small household & auto repairs. Searched all of my local big-box tool stores, nothing compared...it's very difficult to find an all steel toolbox...most have plastic shelves & handles. The Steel Handle is riveted into the lid, thus it's able to carry the weight of the box and tools inside. The inside shelf is also made of steel, painted the same as the box. I had monogrammed brass name plates made for the lid of each box...I think my grandsons will probably keep and use them throughout their lifetime. I was given a tool box by my grandfather...used it all through college to keep my car running...and still have and use it today.

I have not filled this box yet, as I have not decided what I will keep in it, but the quality seems very good. The metal is pretty thick, and the box feels heavy-duty. The finish is very nice. The hinge runs the length of the box, which is nice and sturdy. There are two small holes on the bottom, which I assume are for ventilation, which I like. I will probably put a rag in the bottom, which will be a light buffer between the tools and the metal itself. I will likely buy more of these boxes in this size to sort my many tools and whatnots.

I totally love the toolbox but was disappointed in the cheap plastic handle that was attached. I should have gone with my gut feeling about purchase. Hopefully when I place all my tools in there the handle will be able to hold the weight.

Item arrived in a double box with the toolbox held in place by Styrofoam inserts inside the inner box. Since it was so well package it arrived without any dents. The box is made out of thick steel with a nice paint job. The latch doesn't have any way to lock it and it doesn't come with a tray but the handle is all metal. This tool box is a real bargain at this price point. It reminds me of the way things used to be made in the U.S.A. forty years ago. uali

This tool box is excellent! The quality puts me in mind of the heavy-duty automotive tool boxes that my dad and brothers had in the 1950s and 1960s. The metal is heavy gauge, the box and inner tray are constructed and joined well, and the paint work is first rate. I got this for my husband's 60th birthday (you can tell I am a true romantic) and I'm sure that it will be handed down to his grandson a long time from now.

THE BOX ARRIVED ON TIME AS PROMISED. I LOADED UP THE BOX WITH SEVERAL TOOLS. THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE TOOL BOX. I RECOMMEND THE SELLER AND THE HOMAK TOOL BOX.
