Tub insert
I couldn't afford 10,000 for a new walk-in shower. This kit was wonderful It went in really nice I can get in and out It was affordable. And the video that comes with it was very informative. I'm 70 and handicapped and now I can work with my bathroom. I highly recommend it.

Life saver
I got this for my wife.I have a fully enclosed fiberglass Koehler tub Unit.I was hesitant of cutting up my tub unit myself, but the cost for a contractor to do it was too costly for mesas this was a lot less expensive than installing a new shower unit.I had to buy one tool (hand grinder) to do this this job, $99.00 which I needed. They give you all the stuff to eliminate mistakes. Watch the video several times. The only thing I messed up on was the plastic nozzle they give you, I did not install directly into caulking gun like you would the caulking tube, consequently it was most difficult applying the sealer.I recommend this if you are fairly handy with tools and can follow directions. My job turned out well, My wife loves it and the $1500.00 I saved was a great reward.Took me about 4-5 hrs. including clean up to do the job; 3 months to decide if I want to tackle this., finally I said I can do this ...Cleancut $350, Grinder $99.00,My time $000.

Alternative to replacement
My elderly aunt has mobility issues so when she came for a visit, I needed to make bathing more accessible. This modification was faster, less time consuming and FAR cheaper than replacing the tub/shower unit with a walk-in. The family handiman had the tools and know-how to do the job. He finished installing the modification in a few hours. It's PERFECT! A short step is all that's require to get into the tub now. My aunt and I HIGHLY recommend the CleanCut Accessiblity Kit. The quality is good, the price is right and it arrived quickly.

skip amazon and just go to the clean cut website
If I had it to do all over again I would have sent this back and ordered the rite size directly from the company its THAT big a deal!!!I'm REALLY UPSET WITH AMAZON for not carrying the full range of product from this company so MY experience will not be most peoples and that's a good thing. I bought this for a bed ridden family member who cant lift her feet more than two inches off the ground wen she is standing. I honestly never even knew these tub inserts existed wen I found them on amazon. Before I found them I was trying to strait up afford a full on walk in tub I still plan on getting a walk in tub but hopefully this helps out for now.In all fairness to clean-cut co the websites step by step installation videos are grate! easy to understand and fallow. However I chucked the whole standard process in order to sink the insert as low as possible. I had to cut the width of the entire insert and dropped it in level with the tub walls (I do not know how this is going to impact performance longevity or the actual safety of the product and I do not recommend doing that for most people) especially if a warranty is involved. But the recipient cant lift her legs and the insert even sunk as low as I could go the step is still really to high up. As to clean cut themselves this is some pretty impressive stuff everything is solid even though (amazon docent carry any of it) They do have a range of products to suit specific needs hint hint shove shove AMAZON!!! This is peoples health and safety not computer parts and video games IT MATTERS!!!!.Also I do feel clean-cut should include a small disposable torch and gloves at the very least a few pairs of rubber gloves are not to much to askthis is a good product but if your like me and you need the ultra low cut just go to the clean cut website I wish I had this did not haft to be the process it turned into

Easier and cheaper than a bathroom remodel.
As a widow it was necessary to have help with installation. Find a handy friend or family member and get out of the way. I know no fear as I step into and out of the shower any more. Great value.

Works perfectly
My wife had knee surgery and was having a hard time stepping over the tub wall. She loves this step through and it was less expensive than replacing the tub with a shower. I didn't know if it would work, since our tub wall is rounded and it slants outward slightly. It actually worked perfectly, using cardboard templates for cutting. The adjustable plastic blocks that came with it wouldn't work, because of the curve and the slope outward, but I was able to stack pressure treated 2X4's and a piece of plywood to get the perfect height to support the step. It was quit a project installing it and took me about 5 hours, but it came out great! They also give you information on finding a professional installer in your area, if you aren't able to do it yourself. The installation videos are very handy and informative. We have had it for several months now, with no issues.

EASY. I am 82 and got this done by myself.
Well worth the money and the time to install it to get an easy step out of the shower.

Installed for my mother-in-law!
My mother-in-law fell trying to get into her tub over a year ago. She just can’t raise her leg that high anymore. She’s in VA and we’re in CA so it took a bit to get her on the schedule.I purchase the product, shipped it to her house, and checked my tools in luggage on the plane (jigsaw, drill, caulking gun, tape, gloves vinyl & leather). The installation videos really helped. The only issue I ran into was the spacers for the step with 2x4 installed was too short. Had to get 4x4 from lumberyard instead.Cutting the pattern onto the step took lots and lots of measuring. The tub front and top had profiles that were hard to line up from side to side. And the cutting was super messy. Should have done that outdoors or in a garage. And I never heard of “flamming” the cut edge, so another trip to Lowes for propane torch. I spent more time heating the edge than on video to make sure it softened & smoothed out the cut surface. The caulking step was an absolute bear, but with silicone I expected that. Just used lots of paper towels to remove excess material. Had to buy a longer shower curtain (76”) which is hard to find (think Amazon!).Overall took me about 6 hours with trips to Lowes and lumberyard-and I’m very handy (your results may vary). At the end of day, product was relatively easy, looks great, and should solve Mom’s access issue.
