This was recommended as a way to make the Trangia Alcohol stove safer so if it is bumped or knocked over the alcohol will not spill and spread fire. It works well! I know this isn't the traditional use of this cloth but it works.

I’m a mechanic. I bought this because I reside in the rust belt of the US. I have to use a torch on a lot of jobs. This comes in handy when the piece you have to torch is next to something plastic or something that shouldn’t be hit with a flame. It can literally take a direct flame without damaging anything.

Great stuff for DIY alcohol burners.

I purchase it for my shower facet installation.I covered my wood studs and used propane tank/ torch. It’s actually burned the wood through and finally melted …I’m sure it could be better option on the market

I didn’t or haven’t used it for welding. I used it as a wrap around heat shield for a duct of a diesel heater. It significantly reduced the heat, as I hope it would, as I needed it to protect 2 lithium 12v batteries from over heating, that were almost touching the duct. The temp gets no more than 33 degrees C, from 80 degrees C.

I really like it because when i touch it it doesn't leave fiberglass shards in my hand like normal heat shields. this literally feels like felt. it does kind of "shed" if you're rough with it but it can stand the heat just fine.

Works as advertised.
