I started with the smallest size pellet of this same food for my young Discus. Once they got to spawning size they weren't interested in "tiny" food. This size is perfect for them as mature fish. They get an assortment of dry foods that I mix together, so they get a variety at each feeding. Hikari products & Tetra are the only foods I use for my fish, especially the Discus who live with a big school of Rasboras and several Cory cats. This got 4 stars only because the Discus gobble their sinking food first, then go after these which are still floating.

I bought the Mini for my new baby Oscar when I bought him at the pet store and he loved them. He's grown more than twice his purchase size of 2 1/2" in the month that I've had him. I ordered the next size larger in order for him to not have to eat so much at one time. His color is nice and he's happy! The first picture was the night I brought him home on 7/18/19. The second picture was during the day on 8/19/19.

I have a dozen 4" Peacocks and they all love these pellets. However, I crush them up ahead of time and soak them in water a minute or two before feeding so that swelling doesn't cause any bloat issues. UPDATE: After 6 months of use, I've lost no fish and have a tank full of babies growing well and eating crushed pellets. I've upgraded my rating from 4 to 5 stars because I can't say anything bad about this food. All of my fish eat it ravenously and I've had not water quality issues. I still think it's very important to soak these pellets before serving.

Bought two baby oscars today and tried to feed them cichlid gold mini and they ate em, but they seem to have a little difficulty swallowing them so I had to split them in half, but they seem to like it. *It's been three weeks and my oscar have grown from 1.0-1.5 inch to about 3 inches now, and they used to have trouble eating one pellet per day to now each eating around 30 pellets a day! Great for Oscar cichlids that's over 2 inches.

It's a sustaining product and do not buy from SAGAR AQUARIUM they will send the last stock product with few month remaining for expiry.

Floating cichlid food that satisfies even a huge adult blood parrot's appetite. Though a seemingly small pouch, it lasts for a long time, making it good value for money. The pellets are quite small, which suits the fish's fondness for hunting around for them and less getting wasted from chewing. A bonus that they are really easy to fish out of the tank if uneaten, keeping the tank as clean as possible. Great stuff.
