We replaced a broken zip slider on a sofa seat cover. The slider had been yanked when we took the cover off. It was only attached on one side but the zip itself was sewn up at the bottom - so there was no easy way to slide the zipper slider back on. When we finally did, we found that one of the really tiny plastic teeth on the zipper had broken so it wouldn’t actually zip closed. In trying to mend it (tightening the slider a bit with pliers), we broke the original slider clean in two.I looked at lots of replacements and repair options on Amazon. It seemed like a lot were really flimsy or were either too small or too big.The three zipper sliders arrived from Munkees. It was fairly easy to unscrew the slider in two and put it over the held together zip. It was a bit fiddly and I think is a lot easier with two people. We first tried the medium and then the small. At first the small one fitted better but also wasn’t zipping up. But we found that you can tighten the screw to adjust how much it pulled the zip and… et voilà! Perfectly replaced zip. Broken tooth seems to be no problem and it all looks good.Sturdy. Quick. Good value for money: we now have a spare medium and a large for other jobs too!

Like the design but three sizes is not enough. The medium size was the best/only fit for the broken slider on my coat but it doesn't reliably close the zip. You frequently pull it up to find the zip below the slider still undone. It's not a problem with the teeth on my zip because they were working fine before my slider broke, and when it does work it stays together just fine. I think they need to make a kit with perhaps 10 sizes in so we can find a better match to the original. You might get lucky.

Excellent - quite pricey, but really easy to fit and did a great job of fixing a broken awning zipper which would have been really, really expensive to do any other way. I’ve bought some more just in case of emergencies!

I ordered the triple set - large medium and small in one packet. The small was too small to go on the zip, and the medium went on OK but was clearly a bit on the wide side so it didn't actually mesh the teeth.Probably would have worked fine on the right size zip but i can only say that it didn't work for me.

Last year I got a fixnzip medium size to repair a plastic zipper and it worked marvellously. This time I wanted to try and repair a watertight zipper, but the zip falls off the zipper when I pull it (I followed the instructions, putting the screw side inwards, because the watertight protection was outwards in the zipper), and the teeth do not close properly. I tried also another zipper and it also failed: the teeth do not close properly unless I press the zip by hand, and carefully tightening/untightening the screw makes no difference to this problem.So all in all, I'd say it's a great product but unfortunately it has worked only 1/3 times so far.

I was most upset when my rather expensive winter coat's zip pull broke, but I was loath to pay to replace the zip. I think because you screw these down, they are a lot stronger than the cheaper alternatives. I've been able to use my coat again and it's been worn almost daily for a month with the replacement zip pull and is still going strong. very impressed with it!

Unfortunately the zip did not work , they are expensive for what they are . I had a set of three to make sure that at least on of them would work , The small on was too small and the medium one was too large . not all zips will work with these. I took the zip to a shop and it was fixed for free in about two minutes . These items are too much money for the gamble of if they will work or not . You are much better off looking at other options .

Did exactly what I wanted it to. Great job as the old zipper had failed!

Per ora ho usato solo una misura su una cerniera molto critica, dove mancano anche dei denti, ma sembra funzionare ugualmente e posso riutilizzare tranquillamente la giacca!!Ottimo anche per non buttare capi magari più pregiati.

Ne fonctionne pas, peut à la rigueur dépanner, mais il faudra remplacer la fermeture éclair...mauvais achat..

Hallo,diese Rezension schreibe ich nachdem ich mich auf der Odysse nach einem passendem Zipper für meine Arbeitjacke von Engelbert Strauß befand. Leider gibt es allem Anschein nach keinen passenden Original Zipper in der Größe YKK 8 VS zum nachkaufen, und die Größe 8VSI passt nicht.Deshalb nun hier einmal das Set mit den 3 Größen gekauft um sicher zu sein das einer passt, außerdem schadet es nicht noch Reserve in anderer Größe zu haben. Also schnell ausgepackt aus der Tüte, die Größe L der munkees war die richtige für den Engelbert Strauß Arbeitsjackenzipper, leider konnte ich zuerst den Zipper nicht passend einstellen da bei passender Einstellung sich die Jacke zwar schließen läßt, ein ausziehen der Jacke jedoch nicht mehr möglich war da der Zipper sich unten nicht wieder ausfädeln ließ, also quasi in der Ausziehposition klemmte, -die Jacke blieb unten zu.Jetzt fragte ich mich woran das lag, denn ansonsten funktionierte der Zuzug und Aufzug einwandfrei. Ich fand heraus, dass der Einfädelungsstift der Jacke aufgrund eines dort mit integrierten kleinen Reißverschlusszahns hakte, und deshalb nicht aus dem munkees FixnZip wollte.Nund feilte ich diesen kleinen Ansatz eines Reißverschlußzahnes vom EInfädelungsstift des Reißverschlusses mit einer Feile ab, und siehe da der Einfädelungstift läßt sich beim öffnen der Jacke herausziehen, die Jack läßt sich öffnen so wie es sollte.Trotz dem Manko das sich die FixnZip bei diesem Reißverschluss nicht out of the box nutzen ließen gebe ich diesen 4 Sterne, da diese stabil und wertig verarbeitet sind, die Technik einfach und simpel ist und meine Jacke nun wieder funktioniert.Der eine Stern Abzug efolgt auch deswegen weil ich finde, dass in der Gebrauchanleitung noch ein Hinweis darauf gegeben werden könnte, dass bei Reißverschlüssen mit einem Zahn am Einfädelungsstift dieser Zahn evtl. abgefeilt werden müsste damit die Jacke sich wieder einwandfrei öffnen lässt.Fazit kann man kaufen, gute Erfindung.
