Who doesn’t love a good stalker romance? This is the third book in the McGowan Mafia series, and no disappointment on my end. Effie Campbell has turned stalker into something absolutely delightful.As sister to mafia leader Cameron Thompson, Katie finds herself in a whirlwild romance with rockstar, Tommy. Loving the attention and fun of the lifestyle, Katie finds that things aren’t always what they seem. Tommy starts sending Katie into a spiral, killing her fire and sunshine. Soon Katie finds herself in the arms of her masked stalker. Throwing herself into spicy without knowing who he is, fire starts to come into Katies eyes again. But how will she feel when she finds out who he really is?Mac. Mac. Mac. I mean, as far as stalkers go, HE IS TOP TIER. The way be worships Katie, the way he brings her to life, the way he lights a fire.. Sure.. he is morally grey/red flag, but with actions to live up to his words, I just love him to bits.This book is wonderful. I loved the little twist in there with Tommy, not quite what I had expected but it made for an excellent story. Once again, sad that it had to come to an end. Thank you Effie for this gem!

Mac, the dreamy, masked man, steals the spotlight and has officially become my top pick among the McGowan brothers.Mac McGowan's unconventional pursuit of Katie is nothing less than utterly insane and steamy. 🥵The sizzling intensity in this book could set pages ablaze! 🔥 The masked man takes on various roles – protector, stalker, bestower of pleasure – weaving a mesmerizing narrative. While the heat is undeniable, I craved a bit more depth in Katie and Mac's development beyond their steamy encounters. I wanted to witness more of the dynamics between Katie and Mac rather than solely Katie and the mysterious masked figure. 📖💑Katie's relatable struggles with self-confidence and the quest for love make her an empathetic character. I found myself silently urging her to walk away from her boyfriend, hoping she'd find the strength. She deserved more, and her masked man could give it to her. 💪💔And Mac? Will she learn the identity of her stalker?Okay as of right now Mac is my favorite MMC in this series. He not only gives us wonderful stalker vibes, but he’s also a complete alpha-hole. He has such a dirty mouth and worships Katie. He is a whole package. Katie oh sweet sweet Katie. My heart ached for her so much through this book but I loved seeing her growth throughout this story. I love how she came into her own by the end. I definitely got some Haunting Adeline vibes from this book. Can I just say the scene with Tommy passed out in the bed…IYKYK if you don’t then you need to read this book!Now to vilify Tommy in his death…I pray that man is rotting in fiction he||.This is book 3 in the McGowan Mafia series. It can be read as a standalone however I highly recommend reading the series in order to get the full impact of the plot. This book is so much darker than the first two. Please check trigger warnings!!

It was good. I saw the conflict a mile away and knew the outcome. But, I enjoyed it. It is an interesting ride. I don’t care for all the unnecessary characters and information and family drama from the series. Just focus on this relationship. But overall, it’s good.

I clearly have been living under a rock—I do that occasionally and come out every so often. This time, Author Effie Campbell caught my attention. Yes, I’m sure her books were likely waving in front of me like a red flag to a bull, but as I mentioned—I live under a rockA story tagged as a Dark Mafia Romance with a masked stalker; that was enough for me to start with Book 3, Dark Obsession. I never said I follow the rules of reading books in order. Thankfully, they are standalones.Katie’s boyfriend, Tommy, is a well-known rockstar. Fans love him, but he and Katie’s relationship is tumultuous behind closed doors. Their schmex life is one-sided, and Katie doesn’t benefit. Tommy’s need for domination does not come across as a k¡nk but âbüse.Mac, part of the McGowan Cr¡me Family, has been in love with Katie for a while. However, having a boyfriend and being her brother-in-law makes things challenging. He has seen how âbüs¡ve Tommy can be and wants to show Katie a different side of him—in bed.When Katie is stalked, she is entirely clueless about who it might be. Yet, her masked stalker gives her what she has been missing in her relationship with Tommy, which prompts her to question things.“Dark Obsession” is not for the reader who flirts with dark romance. Please check the trigger warnings. I don’t flirt with dark romance, but I do flirt! No, Mac’s character is quite complex, and Effie Cambell wrote it in a way that I felt drawn to this morally grey, questionable character and was okay with his actions. “Dark Obsession” was a fast-paced, raw, and dirty ride from beginning to end, and I’m ready for more!

This book is absolutely depraved, but I'm...well, obsessed with it. This was my first book from Effie Campbell. I came across it by chance because of something else that binds me to the title--but it was a very happy discovery indeed. Mac and Katie's 'relationship' is everything dark and delicious that a girl who has twisted fantasies could ever want and so, so, SO much more. But it's not just the scenarios that are good, the way Campbell writes them brings your imagination to life and makes you feel like you're right there with them...face down in the dirt, so to speak (if you know then you know).I tried so very hard to stop myself from reading Dark Obsessions so quickly, but I only managed to prolong it for 2 days and was (and still am) thinking about it non-stop. If you're into dark games and tainted tales then this is for you--I would recommend it over and over again. Also, I almost never go back and read a book after I've finished it, but I've already re-visited certain chapters from this book, and can see myself continuing to do so. I'll definitely be buying up some more of Effie Campbell's books after devouring this diamond. Thanks again for this incredible piece of work--I can't give it high enough praise.

This is my first read ever by Effie Campbell and omg she may be my favourite Author - The vibes are dark / moody and sexy- The spice 5/5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Such a good Mafia dark romance read ! LOVED!!!Definitely read trigger warnings if you have any but if you are like myself and have no triggers GET THIS ASAP!!

This book is Dark and Dirty (which means I love it 😁) I adored Mac, he saw Katie was no longer her 'happy' self and that the relationship she was in was bringing her down. He ends up stalking her, which then leads to🌶 🍆 (yup can only happen in a book 🤣) Good plot, good pace and now I need to read the other stories in this series. This is a stand alone but the series follows the different characters.4⭐️

This is my first book by this author and it didn’t disappoint. It was hot dark and dirty and occasionally creepy.There’s a lot of triggers in this book from sexual abuse to stalking and necrophylia (absolutely not my thing!)Tommy is the rock god and Katie’s boyfriend that can’t satisfy his woman unless he does deprived things to get his pecker to stand up. Killing to satisfy his twisted ways.Katie a woman that is trying to stay away from her mafia family and build her own place with her abusive partner, her stalker is a skull wearing mask god that satisfies her needsMac has been in love with Katie for a couple of years.

It was so good it got me out of my reading slump! As dark romance goes it was relatively an easy read and that’s just what I needed!
