Metal Kitchen Compost Caddy - Composting Bin for Food Waste Recycling (Red)

Nice looking bin, seals well so no odours. Seal does occasionally slip off the lid but is easily put back.

This is a lovely addition to the kitchen. I’d been looking for some time for a small compost bin and this is perfect. Small and compact. Lid has a rubber seal which stops any smells escaping and the removable inner bucket has a handle making it easy to remove, empty and clean. Very pretty in the light blue and true to colour shown. Highly recommend.

Not quite as expected but no problem - it does the job as intended! Colour: the seller warned that colours cannot be accurately reproduced on device screens, but in case it's useful the cream compost caddy is a very pale cream, not the rich buttercream colour I was hoping for based on my computer monitor. Having read some of the questions about colour, I wonder if this is a newer version as some of the older reviews did say it was a deep cream? As a comparator, it is noticeably paler than the Dualitt cream toaster and kettle for example (see photo), but still blends in to my colour scheme. Had the colour been crucial to me, I would have bought from the high street / exchanged it. Size: the inner plastic bucket doesn't sit at the very bottom of the outer tin bucket - ie it sits slightly higher up / doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the tin bucket and is therefore slightly smaller capacity that I'd expected. This will be fine as I empty it regularly anyway. Design: the lid has a seal and seems to fit well - hopefully will keep fruit flies out and odors in! The lid handle stands proud of the bucket. It might have been useful if it was below the rim of the bucket so that you can balance things on top in a small kitchen, but this is a detail! Cleaning: I line the inner plastic bin with a piece of kitchen roll which can be composted along with my kitchen peelings. As a previous reviewer has said - don't overfill or the lid gets messy! It would be even better if the plastic inner bin had a plastic handle so that it could go in the dishwasher. I wouldn't want to put the inner bin in the dishwasher in case the metal handle rusts. Obviously don't put the metal outer bucket in the dishwasher. Overall, does just what I want it to do, and much more decorative than my usual plate of veg peelings!!!

This is a good sized food caddy. The caddy comprises of an outer layer, inner layer (removable bin section) and lid. You also get a pack of 5L food waste bin bags. For a countertop food caddy this is a nice size, holding a good amount of food waste. The lid has a seal ensuring no food smells or flies getting in, plus a handy carry handle on the inner bin, Overall this is a really useful bin caddy, with good storage and looks good. Would recommend.

We have had several ceramic compost croc pots over the years, however careful you are they inevitably get chipped or dropped. After the lid on the last one got dropped onto the kitchen floor I decided to go for a metal one instead. Reasonable capacity, but if you're bringing things like leeks or rhubarb in from the garden trim them in the veg patch first otherwise you will fill this very quickly. But its smaller size means it is neat on the kitchen worktop. Like the design with the inner plastic sleeve which is easy to remove for taking waste to compost and for cleaning. Pleased with purchase.

I really love this little bin. It's quite compact and yet holds a lot of food scraps. I have a small kitchen, and yet this bin sits on my work surface quite neatly. It also holds the smell very well. I have never noticed any smell leakage coming from the bin all the while the lid is on! The lid fits very well and has a rubber seal around it which helps keep the smell in the bin. I have seen these bins being sold for a lot more. But I am more than happy with the quality of this bin and the price I paid. I use the food bags with this bin, so I can just lift it out when full and put the bag straight in the food waste bin outside.

Love this it looks lovey and does the job just big enough for a couple of days waste ! The lid has a seal which stops smells and the inside bucket is removable with a handle which is easy to wash .The seal is also removable and easy to wash .I try not to fill mine too much so only wash out inside bucket with a little water from outside tap and water plants with it ! Saving the planet twice !

Arrived on time and was well packaged. Inexpensive to buy but does not last long. The handle broke off quite quickly and the seal in the lid came away after a few washes. We kept using it but it didn't store large amounts of food waste and had to be emptied often, which meant a long drive up to our allotment several times a week. The bin was kept in our kitchen, as we live in an apartment with no balcony. During the summer it attracted fruit flies, so we had an infestation in our kitchen and had to get rid of it. Really disappointed with this product and plan to look for something more robust that can hold a lot of food scraps and is apartment friendly!
